Anyone know of links to listen to MLB free
on the internet? It is incredible to me that
as much trouble as MLB is in with the fans (lack
thereof) that they would have a monthly pay
plan. Most all the NFL games are readily
available for FREE!!

I am particularly interested in LA Dodgers
but would like to have any or all.

Thanks!!

To me, it's the very best bargin on the internet. All games for the entire season for 19.95! And the reception is allways great. Not like the NBA--where I had nightly trouble. If you only want one team--you can get all of their games for 9.95. (i'm listening to the Dodger game now. It is wonderful--like when I was a kid with a little transistor radio! I think it is a real bargin--but to each his own idea!

Thanks!

Probably is a great deal. Just think MLB has enough problems without charging to listen to games on the internet.

They could use all the positive exposure they could get and yet they choose to charge a fee to listen to what is basically a free radio broadcast.

Hell, let them sell commercials like any other broadcast. Just my opinion as I grew up listening to the games on a transistor radio and certainly enyoy listening.

I love baseball and hope they don't screw it up beyond repair.

There is still free baseball broadcasts out there, you just neeed to look around.

What you have to do is find a list of the affiliates that broadcast your team all over the region.

Focus on small towns. If a big city affiliate was broadcasting the game on the net, MLB would find out soon enough and put a stop to it.

Once you have a list, start visiting their websites. You'd be amazed how many rural town radio stations have a website.

The key is to find a radio station that is such a two-bit operation that they just broadcast their live stream onto the net 24-7: Commercials, programming, local farm news, and of course baseball. These stations are so tiny, they can't be bothered to deal with complicated stuff like MLB blackouts.

I listened to free Royals baseball for a while last year on some affiliate they had in Arkansas, of all places. I guess a few of the Northwest counties of Arkansas are considered KC Royals territory.

Granted all this is easier with midwestern teams like KC, and the Twins, because they broadcast to wide regions, but I imagine there are streams of a lot of games out there.

Good Luck.

All this said, I pay $19.95 a month to MLB.com. I really appreciate having the quality feeds to every game all the time.
