SAN FRANSISCO -200

The only question is not whether to bet this but rather how much? Im contemplating some serious coin on this wager. Ask yourself one question - do you really see Barry Bonds unceremoniously exiting the first round of the play-offs by losing to the Marlins??? LOL!!! yeah right

take out the house deeds for this one

Giants 20,000 to win 10,000

MINNESOTA TWINS +220

Not too confident BUT have to take a little nibble on the dog here - lots of value on the Twins - Yanks are old dinosaurs (kinda remind me of the NFLs Raiders) their last two playoff appearances have been less then impressive as the lost to Anaheim last year and lost the Series to the Dbacks two years prior

CHICAGO CUBS +110

Value in the Cubs as you are betting on the best starting rotation one through four in the play-offs - like the fact that the Cubs have been seriously battle tested throughout the month of Septemebr virtually playing a play-off game every night the last two weeks of season - Braves havent played a meaningful game since late August? Cubs' offensive struggles worry but Ill side with good pitching always

OAKLAND As +140

Here is a line that baffles me - As have homefield and Hudson and Zito whereas BoSox only reliable starter is Pedro - Ill take a shot with the As

thoughts/comments/suggestions are all welcomed

good luck

Didn't the Yanks lose to Anaheim last year, thought so? What are you talking about? Dewey, I like your plays, but it is tough to go against the Yanks. minnesota is hot right now, but they can't beat the Yankees. They were 0 and whatever against them this year and just don't have the experience. Really like the Cubs and the A's. You also have to like the Giants with Schmidt and Ponson and how good they are at Pac Bell.

Never mind, just busting your balls. I was basically saying nobody thought the Angels would beat the Yankees. As nobody thinks(including me) that the Marlins will beat the Giants. But I wouldn't lay -220 on a baseball series.. It ain't worth it..

I think that Giants-200 is also a great bargain and Pinnacle has them at -184! I'm locking and loading on the G-men!

I dont buy much into the Twins being 0 for whatever against the yanks - they played them in April when the Twins had no Shannon Stewart, no pitching and no Johan Santana in the rotation. The yanks were scorching then - and I can't really see how the twins have no experience, they were in the ALCS last year!

I love the Red Sox to beat the A's. Not having Mulder will be the downfall for the A's. Sox in 4.

To the DEW!

Best of luck Sir with the Giants. However if you are looking to play 20 dimes in Vegas (based on my last experience) you will need to burn a lot of time, gasoline, or at least shoe leather to get down the 20. The books are complete and total chicken-BLEEP!

And to Wiz Kid, Good luck to you as well and I too like the Giants. However...

You are giving up huge juice to bet on Bonds + a bunch of retread/half-butts. If they are able to pitch around Bonds some strange crap could happen.
As long as the young and enthuiastic Fish don't KNOW they can't win, they are a dangerous opponent!

Listen to me and listen to me good, the A's cant win a series. They are choke artists. The curse of the Bambino is going to have to happen in the ALCS or World Series.

It's Yankees and Giants...The other two series are toss-ups, very close.

Yankees have solid line-up that can hurt you top to bottom. And sure as hell Santana, Radke and Lohse can't stop them. Those that say Yankees are getting old maybe their pitching, but that is one experienced crew. I mean they will throw Pettite, Mussina, and Clemens at the Twins with Wells laying in the weeds. Twins DO NOT match up well with Yankees evident by Yankee domination over Twins. The Yankee mystique continues this year, at least vs the TWINKIES!!!!!....Go ahead almighty FATHEAD, FatBob go ahead and take those clowns and continue your losing ways....

As far as the Giants being old, plllllease. First of all Giants have ace Schmidt who should be dominant vs Marlins. Secondly, the Giants have the Bonds factor, and he will no exit vs the Marlins. The Giants experience will carry them through the Marlins, and possibly to the National League pennant.

Yours in Winners

My money is on the National League +1.30 to win the world series. I'll take their pitching and/or hitting over the American League anyday. That exhibitation game (All Star Game) really gives the value to the National League at +1.30. I see the Giants getting it done. They seem to have the best over all pitching. If the Cubs somehow got to the World series it would bother me though. They have zero bullpen and not a solid closer. Howerver, at +700 you would have to take the cubs to set up a nice hedge in the World Series. I've got a gut feeling they will beat Atlanta. Atlanta never seemes to get too fired up for the post season. Also taking the Giants +450 to win it all small. But I'm LARGE all over the NL to win the World Series.

I think the clown might be you Bernie. If Radke, Santana, or Lohse get in trouble against the Yanks the Twinks have maybe the best and deepest bullpen in the Majors to cover them. The past is the past. I dont feel good enough to pound the Twins in this but I dont think the Twinks are going to roll over like theve done to the Yanks in the regular season the last two years.

But it is ridiculous how theyve owned em for the last two years.

Making it to the seventh game/9th inning of the World Series with the lead isn't impressive? Did you happen to catch games 4 and 5 either? I did, I was there, and they were pretty ****ing impressive if you ask me. I'm not even a Yankee fan, but I'd day the '01 run was pretty impressive.
Yankees win this series in a cake-walk.
Mussina hasn't been a part of a Yankees WS team yet, I see his next few weeks being the starts of his life.
