Atlanta Braves @ NY Mets
Julio Teheran vs Noah Syndergaard
UNDER 7
This NL East season opener has the makings of a pitcher's duel, sporting each team's respective ace on this Monday afternoon in New York.
Of course, we have Noah Syndergaard, who is seemingly always reliable, and there's no doubt he'll be extra amped for this one, being his first (of what could be several) opening day assignments. It's his also the first Mets home game, which could make it extra special. Through his almost two years of big league experience, Syndergaard boasts a 2.68 ERA and 0.98 WHIP across 28 starts (and one relief appearance) at Citi Field, while allowing a minimal .228 opposing batting average. His opponent, Julio Teheran, can be just as stingy when opposing the Mets. In fact, in four outings facing them last season, the 26-year-old was 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA and 0.60 WHIP, while averaging more than seven innings each start. Furthermore, New York only hit a dismal .146 with him on the rubber. The under looks like a fine bet here as a result.
