Online betting players who focus on baseball will see a few interesting matchups in the American League over the next few days, and you should see some excellent pitching along the way. Here is a look at a trio of matchups worth watching.
Yankees Blue Jays Betting – Tuesday, 7:07 PM ET
The Yankees are slight -108 favorites in Toronto as they kick off a three-game set, but that could be considered as a surprise as they give the ball to A.J. Burnett (3-0, 4.67), the former Blue Jay who has struggled at the Rogers Center since leaving Toronto. Burnett has lost all three of his starts north of the border since moving to New York, posting a 10.13 ERA at the Rogers Center, and the Yankees have lost seven of their last 10 in Toronto as a team. The Blue Jays will go with Kyle Drabek (1-0, 1.93), who has lost his lone start against the Yankees which came last year, but this is his first start at home in three outings. Drabek tossed a one-hitter in his first start of the 2011 season in Toronto, and he’ll want to limit his walks after throwing four base-on-balls in the each of the last two games.
New York may have Alex Rodriguez back in the lineup after he missed Sunday’s win over Texas, but the key to all of this is Burnett, who has never been a strong pitcher on the road in the first place, and he knows he’s going to get booed from the second he steps out of the dugout in Toronto on Tuesday. We don’t think he’ll get hammered on Tuesday night, but we’re going to give the edge to Drabek and the Blue Jays.
Betting Edge: Toronto Blue Jays
