I was just catching up on all the last minute trade activity on MLB TV network, and I was totally blown away by their coverage.

MLB Network is everything ESPN is not, and ESPN wishes they can cover news like this.

John Hart (the former Indian GM) is brilliant, well spoken, insightful, and easy listen.

Dan Pleasac brings the ex-player insight to the table.

Tom Bertucci is outstanding.

No shtick, no gimmicks, no 'look at us' mentality, just beyond outstanding news and news analyst.

MLB Network is part of a Sports Entertainment Package that cost me $4.99/month. Includes the NFL Network, NBA, TVG, Tennis and a number of other channels. Recently signed up for the second half of the baseball season of MLB Extra Innings where all games are shown live except for local blackout. The $139 was well worth it. Early bird for the whole season is $169 before April.

Cablevision here in Ct. added MLB as a stand alone basic channel (no extra charge) on Jan 1, and it never disappoints.

Mitch Williams is really good. He's honest and tells it like it is. Did you hear the guy talking about the Rolen trade and he talked about the leadership Rolen will bring to the Reds. Then he passed it over to Mitch and he talked about Rolen and set the other guy straight.

Thats funny you guys mentioned the MLB network. I was watching it around the trade dealine and thought their coverage was terrific. I need to watch it more often

The "8 Game Screen" (channel 720) is great. I find myself watching it all the time with the A's game on the audio.:toast:

John Hart is amazing.
He was explaining waiver blocks and such, there are waiver rules that are complicated, and he was breaking it down, like you can waive a player, and that player gets claimed, you can pull him back, however if you do it a second time..........
stuff like that, anyway, Hart was breaking it down in an intelligent manner for you so that you can understand it, without spoon feeding it to you with sugar so you don't feel like an idiot.

Hart and MLB network make that Mickey Mouse ESPN station look like, well, Mickey Mouse.

the PC & Affirmative Action craze that's run amok!!! They feel as if EVERY segment must be at least 50% or more a minority, or they're at risk to the Al Sharpton's of the world. Which they probably are. Ask Imus. A majority of these guys are totally incompetent. Scott, Wilbon, Saunders, etc. are so biased it's awful. They'll defend Woods & the Williams sisters regardless of the facts or outcomes.:>(

Correct, not to mention ESPN is owned by ABC, which is the most liberal news reporting outfit in the universe.
(Actually ABC is owned by the Mickey Mouse people)
MLB is owned by MLB, they call them as they see them.

ABC has become a schill for ESPN these days, it's nauseating.
