Wondering what you think of the DET/MIN over 8.5? Seemed like the clearest bet of the day for me, but I'm new at this.

thanks. Totals are not my strong suit, so I don't really have a strong opinion. Baker is coming off a bad outing, and has not shown the ability to be a good bounce back pitcher. He struggled against the Tigers last year. The Tigers are clearly going for hitting over defense with the lineup they are going with today. Mourneau out won't do you any favors, but the Twins lineup can still get to Schertzer and the Tigers bullpen.

I know, but when Hawkins is next in line you don't have much leverage in waiting for Hoffman to get his changeup working again. Hoffman has had a long history of costing me money.

Something is not right with Peavy. He has been known to hide injuries in the past, and he may be hiding another one. He used to have remarkable control, and right now he simply can not throw strikes. His fastball is not working, and his confidence is shot. This is not something you want when facing the Rangers lineup in their park. Harden also doesn’t look right on the mound, but I think his problems are less likely an injury and more probable to turn around. Kotsay and Vizquel are in the lineup. That is not a good thing when it’s a major league lineup. The Rangers have a nice lineup edge and struggling pitcher with more likely to pitch well.

Boy, I could use a rocking chair game after the afternoon I had, but GL on the Rangers. Missed that one, and lost on the phi/SF total after it was 4-1 w/ 2 outs in the 9th. Tough racket, I suppose.

I realize that Hawkins is garbage, but Parra or Coffey (who has closer experience) would be better choices at this point. It's as if these managers are married to broken down closers like Hoffman, who eventually are going to get them fired. Hoffman and Jenks seem to be my nemeses in the 9th inning most often.
