I am trying to start a pool, and I want to run it like this: Each person gives $100, it's winner takes all at the end of the season. Each person starts off with $10,000 imaginary cash. You can place any wager you want; money line, o/u, spread or any parlay. The person with the most amount of "cash" at the end of the season takes the pot.
Any suggestions on the logistics of something like this? How exactly should I do it? Use excel to calculate the mathematics of it? How exactly would I do that? Thanks.

Any ideas on how I can actually organize it? In terms of keeping track if all bets? Use excel? If so, how exactly?

I want to be in, I am a little worried about the fact you have 3 post, all about this. A little worrisome.

The best thing would be to use the forum, and let us police ourselves, and you double check. That way it's transparent.

There's also got to be a ton of rules like, There's got to be max bets, min number of bets, what happens if you hit 0..

Good idea, but if you don't have it polished yet, it will take you some time. I run pools all the time and I can tell you this isn't something you can just start. You need some rules. Get all the info figured out and then come back.

Personally, I don't think I can trust a guy on here with 3 post all about this

BTW Jstack and TTT where were yall when I was running my pools on here?

google docs would be easier than excel, because you can let us all edit it. Again all be incharge of our own, and you double check....

you got some work to do. GL

I understand why you'd be "worried," but to be fair I never asked anyone to to join the pool, nor did I ever ask anyone to send me money. My original goal was to just simply get some advice on how to run something like this. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum and I just wanted some info.

That's how I took it as well.

No harm in that...

1. Each participant starts the season with a $10,000 bankroll.
2. Each week place any type of bet, as many bets as you'd like, and on as many different teams as you'd like
3. Each participant is limited to $1,000 in total bets each regular season week.
4. The winner is the person that has the highest total dollars by the end of the season.
5. The the season is over after last regular season game has been played. (No play-offs.)
6. A participant does not have to use the whole $1,000 limit each week. In fact, you don't even have to place a bet in any given week if you don't want to.
7. Once a player is out of money, (only possible after 10 weeks), he is out and cannot get more money.
8. Upon completion of the regular season, all losing participants pay the winner $100.00 (Winner takes all) 9. Vegas odds are used and are based on the latest odds from Bodog. If you have newspaper odds that are better for you for a particular team, we usually will accept them.

Financial transactions between posters.

Please proceed with extreme caution and operate at your own risk when dealing with other Rx posters privately, especially in financial matters. The Rx.com does not endorse any posters that solicit other posters for loans or transfers, or wagering events between yourselves and cannot vouch for any posters that attempt to procure loans, funds for private contests, funds for private wagers or transfers from other posters for any reason anywhere on this site.

Financial transactions between posters are extremely risky and The Rx. advises the use of the most serious caution before making any kind of financial transaction with another poster. The Rx.com itself cannot be held responsible when posters fail trying to recover funds loaned, transferred or wagered with or to other posters under any circumstances.

Unless you personally know a poster or one is vouched for you by someone you highly trust you should be very hesitent to conduct unsecured financial business with posters that you meet on this any other forum.

I cannot over emphasize how dangerous it is to bet or loan or transfer money with or to complete stangers and expect to be paid in the end. I am not saying all posters are dishonest but utmost caution needs to be practiced whenever posters deal with each others privately, especially in regards to financial matters. The Rx.com cannot help mediate disputed wagers, contests or debts between private parties..

Caveat Emptor - let the buyer beware..

Thank you, wilheim..

Have I been restricted in some way? If it is because of this thread, I can only repeat what I stated before. I never asked anyone on this forum for money, nor did I ever ask anyone to join the pool. I was planning on running this pool among friends that i know personally. I was just looking for advice on how to run it.
