I'll give you Mizzou and 4.5. Hell, I'll give you 6. Memphis pulls away in the last 10 minutes. 80-68.

Analysis: Memphis is way better than Mizzou!

Don't we always look back at games we "thought" we knew the other team was the better team and scratch our heads and wonder how the other team just kept hitting those 3's? Taking Memphis here is as good as donating your $$ to Charity.

But if you donate your $$ to charity then at least you get to write it off as a tax break... lol Better analogy would say taking Memphis here is as good as using your money as toilet paper... :103631605

Memphis wins this one. Missouri is going to be uptight in the S16 with all the hype all week. Memphis has been here before and plays much better defense.

And when GD says Memphis has been here before, he means "Memphis was here last year... and rolled to the finals... and lost in a close game. They're angry and want to come back for another chance. No way Mizzou wins."

If that's what he means, then I support him 100% :)

Gentlemen,
There are only 5 teams that can beat Memphis left in the tourney; 4 of them are the number 1 seeds. The fifth is themselves.

The Tigers (Mizzou, that is) better be knocking 3's down at a 65-70% click. This is going to be like playing against Nebraska's defense and a Oklahoma State's Offense all in one team.

Like I said, this will be close in the first half-maybe even the first 30 minutes-then it gets to "Men and Boys" time. ~~:<< I hope Mizzou is practicing their defensive spacing as Memphis may put up 90 on them.

Memphis -4.5
Over 141.5

are plays I will be on followed by this:cripwalk:.....and this:dancefool

Good Luck

The Memphis offense gets alot of pub (well-deserved), but its their defense that is awesome-Earlier in the year Memphis went on the road AT Gonzaga and held Gonzaga to 36% FG in a blowout, It is very rare for anybody to visit Spokane and leave with a blowout---This was the same Gonzaga team that shot 50% against UCONN despite losing in OT,
Furthermore Missouri has 3 Losses since January 28th, In all 3 of those losses they were beaten by 16,25,10---Even the game they lost by 10 they were down 26 to A&M, ----Missouri can try their full court pressure, but NBA-type guards will eat that up for lunch and Memphis has one in Tyreke Evans, This is why NBA teams don't use full-court pressure, Pitino learned that lesson when he coached at Boston, NBA guards are too good for it

Mizzou has the deepest team in the Big 12. It's one that allowed them to win the Big 12 Tournament. So I don't see Memphis wearing them down. It all comes down to Mizzou's perimeter shooting. They aren't always on. But when they are they're capable of knocking off anybody in the country. I like Memphis here. But I don't really like the point spread where it's at now. Mizzou is a good second half team. And they could make it interesting coming down the stretch.

Not only will Memphis break the press with ease because of Evans ability to see over the traps and press. Memphis length will take care of Carroll and Lyons.

Memphis wins by DD and their #1 FG% defense shows up and dominates.

First off Memphis has a NBA (type) guard in Tyreke Evans who may or may not be a point guard in the league but he is not currently an NBA guard. He is a freshman with an insane athletic ability. He is not a traditional PG. Antonio Anderson may be a scrub for somebody in the NBA but that is it. If he was an NBA guard he wouldn't still be in Memphis. Same goes for Doneal MAck and Willie Kemp.

Marquette had great guards and they struggled early on against the pressure as they turned it over several times in the first half. So you can expect Memphis to turn it over more than they normally do. Only when Marquette started taking the ball inside did they have success.

This game will come down to two things for both teams in my opinion. If Memphis(Evans) is getting in the lane all night then it is probably game over. The other big thing for Memphis will be if they are hitting from deep like they did against Maryland then it is probably game over, however Memphis hasn't shot the ball from deep like that all year and Missouri does a pretty decent job of getting out on the shooters.

On Missouri's side it will come down to whether Lyons and Carroll are settling for jumpers or if they are taking it the basket and posting up. If they settle for jumpers then they are average. Both can shoot from 15 feet but are much more effective taking it to the rim. Also the Tigers will need Matt Lawrence, Kim English, Zaire Taylor or Marcus Denmon to get hot from the three point line. They just need one of them to knock down a couple to open things up inside for Lyons and Carroll.

Just my two cents. Would not be shocked if this were a 10 point Memphis victory or to see Mizzou pull this one out.

Agree, Missouri beats Memphis. I have Mizzou going to the Final Four in one of my brackets.
