I don't know bout Illini ML.. they aren't going to be good as last year, losing Mendenhall on offense hurts and Chase >> the Juice.. I think Mizzou gets the win, and Illini the cover.. Tigers by 4-7

i'll take Missouri. They both seem to be in the same boat. Coming off a better than ever year, losing star RBs, returning one major threat WR, losing linebackers, and are expecting another great year. The icebreaker for me is I will take Heisman candidate Daniels (at home on a Saturday night opener) over Juice anyday of the week.

Kornholio,

Are you going to post some plays this year? We need some more Big Ten guys and I've heard you're no slouch.

I believe this will be an awesome game to start out the season. I follow the Illini religously but will try to look at this as a capper. The illini won't fall off in the running game this year, at least not near as bad as everyone thinks. The defense will be faster and the strength of the team. It all comes down to Juice getting the ball to his receivers and that would be my only concern if your taking the points. Last year the Illini really surprised Mizzou when the Eddie McGee the back up came in and did well throwing the ball. Only problem was his TO's cost the Illini the game but Mizzou was stopping the option until they had to defend more of the field.

I think the Illini D will be physical like Oklahoma was and Chase Daniels will be on a first name basis with DE Will Davis by the end of the game.

Big question mark for the Illini is their Kicking game though so watchout for that.

Something tells me this could be a low scoring game and a close one. I would take the points because it's a rivalry game and I think the Illini have the ability to not only cover but win the game.

Final score:

21 - 17 Mizzou wins a nail biter (Hope I'm wrong)

Juice Williams has improved immensely as a passer. Illinois will be able to move the ball through the air.

Going to have to after losing Mendenhall. Any word on how their RBs have been?

Dufrene is looking good. Averaged about the same amount of yards per game as Mendenhall last year and actually had more yards than him in the '07 Mizzou game. I don't think the Illini running attack will have that steep of a dropoff. They led the Big Ten in rushing when Mendenhall was a backup. I don't think Illinois beats Missouri this year but it will be close. I definitely think they cover the 8.5

Now I wouldn't bet on it but it's not that farfetched. Mizzou has a questionable O-Line (especially the left side) that Illinois can exploit. Illinois probably will be able to score a lot of points also.

We shall see. I apparently have much more faith in Mizzou on both sides of the ball than you. I really think that this is their breakout season where they make a serious run at the national title.

Prob not. I'm O.K. in foots, I'm much better in college hoops. I'll plan on posting my valley plays this year.

Can't wait for this game, I will be there. Love this game the arch rivalry, but hate the venue. CFB was meant to be played outside, but love dtown stl. It should be fun day hopefully Illini can pull the upset.
