I don't usually venture down to the political forum because, frankly, I'm not a very politically minded person (perhaps even to a flaw).
With that said, in the southeast, I've been hearing nonstop about the Mississippi Senate race and was a little surprised when I came here and wasn't able to find a thread discussing it. Maybe I overlooked it.
Long story short, in the Republican primary, Tea Party candidate McDaniel got the most votes but it wasn't over 50%. He edged out incumbent Cochran. Some no-name 3rd party running got literally like 5,000 votes but it was enough to keep either candidate from getting the majority.
So MS had a runoff and Cochran won by roughly 7,600 votes. That was about a month ago but McDaniel has been adamant that the runoff was unfair and he's stated he will be challenging the runoff within the next week. Allegations of race baiting ads and invalid votes seem to be his justification.
Just curious if y'all had any opinions on this.
