I think there is a good opportunity to make some bucks here. I made +1250 with Miss Venezuela at Miss Universe 08 awhile back. Different ladies competing here.

The prelims are complete and the top 15 have been chosen. The actual event is at 9 am Saturday morning, our time, so get your bets in tonight.

It looks like Miss Russia and Miss Mexico are the best bets imo.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_World_2008#Placements

For the five highest rated contestant I have these odds available.

Mexico +1200
Ukraine +2500
Brazil +1600
India +1500(field)
Russia +3300

Anything can happen of course, but it sure seems like Miss Mexico or Miss Russia will win.

I just double checked and I am getting the same lines as before. It's killing me to be limited to $50. Anyone else have an opinion as to who will win? Anyone else betting on it?

Thanks IAG. I'm kinda hooked on betting these things now. The last time I was at my local dive bar and they had one tv that nobody was watching. I asked them to check for the Miss Universe pageant and you shoulda heard the comments from the five or so guys who were there. When she made the top 10 a coupla guys started paying attention. When she got into the final 5 everyone was into it. When she won I bought 2 rounds for everyone and the place went nuts! I hope history repeats itself.

Interesting how low Russia is at your book. I wonder if her lack of English skills will hurt her chances. From what i have read, she has really impressed people since her arrival in Johannesburg.

Just found out another angle. This year, for the first time, the public will have a vote. I'm not sure how much it is weighted, but it does point to the larger countries dominating. I think this helps with my two selection of Miss Mexico and Miss Russia.
