Anyone know if all the minors or just some of the minors will play if there is a lockout? Just wondering...

They should all play. The minor league players are not in the NHLPA and wouldn't be locked out.

they will also use a shootout to decide regular-season games that are tied after a 5 minute overtime period

2 points for a win
1 point for a lose in overtime or the shootout

What is "tag up" offsides? Is that the concept of once a team that is offsides clears the zone completely, the other team doesn't get a free out anymore?

No kidding, since they invoked that rule scoring has plummeted. Not sure if you can blame it on the rule, but suspicious how scoring is down so much from even the mid 90s when this rule was begun for the stupid excuse of trying to get defensemen to learn how to handle the puck better.
