Pretty sure he still has the multi-year streak (maybe to his first couple seasons) of never having more than two games without at least once on base

Congrats on the fastest Angel to 40HRs

Trout went 4-for-4 with a walk and four runs and became the fastest Angels player to reach the 40-homer mark in a season, as his solo blast off White Sox right-hander Reynaldo Lopez in an 8-7 victory came in the Angels’ 123rd game of the year, breaking Troy Glaus' record of reaching 40 homers in 136 team games in 2000.

He very well may be a top 5 all time player, but MLB is not like NBA, where one man can make a huge difference. You could pitch around him, and the guy every at bat.

The problem is he sucks up so much payroll, to the point of not being able to make a team with what is leftover,Pujols doesn't help matters either.

LAA has a losing record,a nowhere team !

These lifetime contracts never work out, countless examples exist, it just cripples a team to take on such a huge contract, and prevents signing anybody else of note.

Baseball is a team game, no one man is worth 10-20 % of your payroll, even if he is perhaps the greatest of all time.

I like the Yankees approach of pulling hitters like Urshela, Le-may-who, Voit...etc., off of the top of my head

Mike Trout homered (417 ft.) to deep center, Tommy La Stella scored

giving big contracts is fine if you can give lots of them. Ask the dodgers, they’ve wasted so much money but they’re still good because they can buy 5 players to fill 2 holes.

A byproduct of the incredible first 10 years of Mike Trout’s Major League career is that one never seems to run out of mind-boggling Trout facts.

Well, Tuesday seems to have proved that theory once again. Baseball Twitter personality Jim Passon dove deep into Trout’s Baseball-Reference page and emerged with a factoid that has gone viral. Trout owns a .299 average over his past 299 big league games, a .440 on-base percentage across his past 440 appearances, a .610 slugging percentage across his past 610 contests and a 1.020 OPS in his past 1,020 games dating back to May 2013.

Best player in the game and one of the best ever. Problem is baseball is a team sport and his teams have been meh.
