This just goes to show how bad K-State and UWashington are. Both those teams were beaten by Fresno, although in Washington's defense FSU scored 3 TD's on defense due to the inept Huskie QB play. The Bulldog offense could not move the ball.

UTEP walked into Bulldog stadium and came out with a SU win as an 18 point underdog. Why is this important...well UTEP also played BSU very close this year in a game that BSU had to come from behind to win. Look for UTEP to be favored in most of their remaining conference games, all of which are winnable and the numbers should be fairly low. Probably give us a chance to make a couple bucks on them. Mike Price seems to have these guys believing, and in this conference he will not be outcoached. He's probably worth a 4-7 points himself.

Also look for Boise to blast Fresno in a couple of weeks as well.

UTEP has Hawaii next week in ElPaso in what should be a win, then go to LaTech and SJSU before hosting Rice and SMU. They end at Tulsa. They will be favored in all of those games with the exception of playing at LaTech. They should be able to move the ball up and down the field against all of the remaining teams.

Just a thought.

Utep was in a good spot as they were coming off of a solid home win over their rival neighbor NMST...and caught a Fresno St team that just got there bubble busted by LA Tech....Now, they are in a possible unfavorable situation as they are coming into this one off of a Big Upset Win and could be suffering from a hangover and now must face a Hawaii team whose Offense, Defense, and Special Teams are rolling at the moment....Not to also mention, that due to this 2nd lost by Fresno St,....Hawaii, more so, now holds its own destiny in their hands and should be completely focused going into this one because they cant afford one slip up....If Utep didnt upset Fresno St....I would of liked them in this spot to possibly upset the Warriors next week...but due to these new situations....Now Utep may help Hawaii out by beating themselves(mentally) next week.

Mike Price and June Jones met, I think twice that I can recall...Once when he was still at Wash St...and then again when he was at Alabama, or was that Franchione..:ughhh: ..(not completely sure though)...

Whats the line on this one?

Price never coached a game at Bama so it was Francione. Not sure Hawaii comes to El Paso and wins or even covers. My guess is the line will be UTEP -4 or 5, but that is just a guess. This Hawaii team does not seem to have the same character and swagger as previous teams. No offense to you as I know you follow them religiously.

Not sure UTEP will be in bad spot but see them building momentum with this win and knowing they have shot to go bowling. I have alway thought Price was a good coach who got the most out of his players. He once again is weaving his magic.

No offense taken....I agree with your assessment on this years Warrior team....It is true that this team lacks the swagger and that confident/cocky attitude about them....In the past years this attitude and swagger has always come from the stud players who played on the Defense, yet whose leadership and confidence carried over to the entire team....Last year this came from that solid Def Line led by Issac Sapoanga(SF) and Laboy(Tenn)....The year before, it came from the SR LBacking Corp lead by All Wac player Chad Brown, Matt Wright, and SS Nate Jackson....These guys were very outspoken leaders on the team....

This year though...the Seniors who are the Top players on the team arent as outspoken like the other guys are....QB Timmy Chang, WR Chad Owens, DL Lui Fuga, are all good players, but they are not, and they do not have that confident motivating type of personality which can make others feed off of....These guys personalities are basically humble , soft spoken, and laid back, just like their coach Jones is.....I dont like this, and I wished more of them were more outspoken and had a more of that swagger about them...but they dont right now.....and I cant seem to figure out if it is because of the media hype they are getting, which maybe going to their heads.....or if it is because that is just how it is...

Coach Price is a solid coach....you have to be solid, in order to get hired to take over a famous football program like Alabama.....He also Coached and had some very solid teams with some very solid QB's at the helm, when he was at Wash St.....Probably the latest QB who made a name for himself under Price, was Jason Gesser, who btw is a local boy from Hawaii, who was recruited by Coach Price to play football for Wash St....He also had that big flunky QB in Leaf which may have brought the most notirety to the Wash St football program , with its Rose Bowl vs Michigan and the Rocket...awhile ago..

They might not go bowling this year, but for sure they will be bowling next season.....Coach Price also has Carson Palmer's kid brother as their starting QB......Is he good like his brother was in College?.....Still may be to early though to judge....and he will be more successful as he matures....he has the geans to be a good one....

I thought Hawaii was going to be about a -3 to -4 pt road favorite in this one....but I am glad that they are the ones getting the points for a change....LOL.....I like Hawaii, when they are installed as a small doggie...:) and they seem to do play better and with a lot more heart, as well when they are....

Should be a good game. I am waiting to see how injuries shake out. One question for you though. Does Hawaii come in 1 day or 2 days before a game on the mainland? Just curious as I know a lot of teams that go there try to get there 2 days prior to adjust to the time difference.

I'm sitting here watching Seattle burn my money. Rams have all but giftwrapped the game and SeaDogs won't accept it. Game Tied.

Trust in Mike Price. We may never get a good line on UTEP again, but in the WAC we may not need it. This is a well coached team and it seems that the players are believing.

Win One...

Mike Price's stay at UTEP will be extremely short. He will be welcomed back to the Pac 10 with welcome arms, and there very well could be an opening before the end of the season at Washington. If not the Pac 10, he will get picked up at a major program somewhere else.

Mike Price is one of the most underrated coaches in the nation...I wish to god he was the coach at Oregon State, I love the guy.

Without a doubt you are correct. I know UW will have an opening and I thought long ago that Tedford should have gotten the OSU job instead of rehiring Mr Rogers (AKA Mike Riley). Scuttlebut I hear is that UW has Bruce Snyder on their list of candidates (former ASU HC) but he may also be the choice at UNLV as he's the OC. They are also looking at former ASU and OSU HC John Cooper and I can't imagine a list without Dan Hawkins of BSU. I don't get much news out of Corvalis though as I typically don't see the guys who recruit for them until bowl season. Every so often they will ask about a HS kid from the DFW area.

Mike Price would be a definate fit at OSU although with his ties to WSU and deep pockets of Paul Allen (big WSU alum and supporter), I don't see him going to UW.

The thing with Price at Alabama was so hypocritical. I was at the NCAA tourney a few years ago in Atlanta. We were in a local strip joint and there was this one drunk guy in there going crazy. he was grabbing at the girls was out of control. They had to escort him out. The next night here comes this same guy in a suit walking out on the bb court. He was some big wheel with the NCAA.

I think Bama probably over reacted but Price should have signed the contract. Realize he had a contract offer and had been working 3 months without signing it. Sign the darn contract as it makes it tougher to fire him. We've all grabbed at a$$ from time to time. Olympic garden in Vegas one of my favorite spots.

I'm going to continue to push this point across to EVERYONE. Do not overlook UTEP. In their conference they seem to have figured it out. Add to that the experience and coaching of HC Price. Not sure how long he stays in El Paso, but he's been profitable so far. Continued Success Miners!! Or until the line goes against you. Can someone please give this team some credit.

And would people please stop comparing RB's (Moats) with Barry Sanders. Folks there will never be another like him. That's just rediculous!!
