This is a player just beginning to come into his own. People don't realize he's still quite young. He's a great skater and has a hard accurate shot. When you see him play frequently, you realize he almost never takes a slap shot, but he has a killer wrist shot that is not only hard but very accurate. What he has done is not a fluke-he does most of his damage on the power play, and because of forwards like Ovie and Semin, Green gets plenty of space to move around in the offensive zone.
I'm not a expert on franchise depth of all NHL teams but I do know that the Caps are stacked, especially offensively at the blueline. They have been selecting defensmen in early rounds for the last few years.
