true story
in 1991 as we all know - i worked in bristol at espn
well, in september i came out here for a few weeks of vacation. during that time ucla played a game @ SDSU. i spoke to the production people and arranged to be mike gottfried's spotter for the game. for the entire game i stood RIGHT NEXT to him helping him out with who made tackles and all that kind of stuff.
all was OK until the end when ucla was killing sdsu and both teams cleared the benhces for the reserves. gottfried was clueless about some of the players. i would point them out to him on the chart - but he couldn't see them. he literally had to take the chart and stick it about 5 inches from his face to see the names/numbers - which were about a few inches in size to begin with. that was 13+ years ago and i can't imagine his eyesight has gotten any better over time!

P.S. Only one more question for the sPitt people on this board...why did the Utes end up with over half of your ticket allotment?

As for Morelli, I will take Palko any day of the year over that knucklehead. I guess you didnt hear the reason why Morelli came up there instead of being a man and living up to his word. He looked at Walt Harris play book and realized for someone as dumb as a rock (Morelli that is) he could never catch on. So he went up there to PS Stinkin U since that vanilla playbook is much easier to learn. You will see before its all said and done what a knucklehead this kid is, trust me on that one.
I know your not very educated just by the 2 teams you root for so let me give you a little education on Justin King. His stepdad and high school coach is a PS Stinkin U alumini so his decision to go up there really was a no brainer. The jury is still out on him, he was a stud running back in h.s. since the old man let him score 5 tds in about 4 games this year against inferior competition. When it counted he came up lame in the first game against the best team in the state and in the second game his boys were shutout and stud back played the whole game. The boy is a little soft which will fit the PS Stinkin U mold just fine.
As for the conference crying you PS Stinkin U celler dwellers like to do, we have no control over schools jumping for the money and not giving a rats a$$ about anything else. Miami and Virginia Tech are 2 solid programs and to be honest with you both belong in The ACC not The Big East. B.C. on the other hand sold their soul and will regret the decision every year since they will be the PS Stinkin U of the ACC in football and hoops for many years to come.
I do agree with you on one point and it pains me to say that, believe me. The empty seats in Heinz Field is a real joke year in and year out. The people around here care about one thing and one thing only and that is of the soon to be Super Bowl Champions, Pittsburgh Steelers.
