Ditka, great player, Just an ok head coach, vastly overrated as a coach, very entertaining when he was a coach.
A blowhard and a hypocrite. After the Superbowl win in the 85 season he told his players to not do so many endorsements because they will interfere with playing the next football season. Then he went and did everything offered to him consuming his time and focus away from football. During the NFL strike year when teams were putting replacement players on the field he said of the fans who were not going to that games as "not real fans" for not attending. Also alienating his players who were on strike as "goons on the picket line" and saying the replacement players he had on the field were as good as the striking players. He lost respect of the players when they came back from the strike. Like i said he was entertaining even tho he was a blowhard.

Hard to believe someone could make that big of an ignorant statement and still be considered a great american by some people. Just incredible.
