The latter is quite risky.

Do you more often look for lines that are just off at different books or do you more often try and predict the line moves?

Thanks

It is not almost impossible for the line to move the other way fish...far from it.

As an example say a game opens -4.5 and suppose 90% of the shops have the game at -5 and you see a -4.5 out there and you gobble it up.

Almost impossible that line will go BELOW -4.5 ........and a very good chance it will go over -5 if one thinks it should and possibly will go to -6.

This is just one of many scenarios one can employ as a scalper/middler.

couple of more things I have noticied and beleive me I have only been paying attention to this for about a week. It does seem like the favorite goes up alot more than the dog goes down (esp in west coast games). Another thing I have sort of seen happen is in mid afternoon if line is 3-4 pts off opener it seems to bounce back toward the opening number(unless injury involved), so I try and get the low # and feel it has maybe bottomed out.
I also do the math in EVERY poetential middle and reduced juice makes all the difference in the world if this a good middle or not.

Meant to say I grabbed Furman(vs Elon) at +3 -105 last night, now I just grabbed Elon -1.5 (skybook free half point) -108 and have a 1.5 middle and paid 13 cents juice.
