Michigan has some big holes to fill, but the foundation is in place to be in the
Big Ten title hunt. The assumption is that Jim Harbaugh will really kick things
into high gear after a year back in the swing of college things. Can the QB
situation be solved right away? The running backs are outstanding and the
line should be among the best in the conference. The defensive line and
secondary are going to be impressive, but Harbaugh has to replace his top
linebackers.

The schedule is manageable with the first five games being in Ann Arbor. At
Michigan State and at Ohio State may just define the season.

Hawaii, Central Florida, Colorado, Penn State, Wisconsin, @Rutgers, Open Date,
Illinois, @Michigan State, Maryland, @Iowa, Indiana, @Ohio State

Michigan will open in the top-10 but can Harbaugh keep them there?

Even thought the inertia of once "Mighty Michigan" has come to a slow crawl, Harbaugh will re-charge the batteries and the program will once again become a factor in college football (maybe not a Big-10 Championship) but the possibility of such once their roster is replenished with Harbaugh recruits. I've been following the Michigan program for more than 65 years which takes me back to the Glory Days of Coach Fritz Chrisler beginning right after World War ll. They were winners all-the-time becoming Big-10 champions or at least knocking on the door the championship many, many times. Lots of trips to the Rose Bow on January 1st.

The Wolverines have a lot of built-in safety valves which could allow them to become great once again. A huge Alumni net-work which helps with the recruiting along with a lot of tradition and great fan support (they didn't build that 110,000 seat stadium to look at).....It will be interesting to see how all this plays-out in the years ahead in a sport that has changed dramatically during the past 50 years.

Big Daddy said Michigan will never amount to anything because Harbaugh is an overrated head coach. Which means they should be winning a national championship soon...

I can easily see Michigan going 10-2 or 11-1 with that schedule.

Depending on how they come out against Penn State or Wisconsin.

Harbaugh is just what Michigan football needed.........................

Looks like Michigan got an early commitment from Dylan McCaffery (brother of Christian), the #1 rated pocket passer in the 2017 class. Although it will be a few years until we see him on the field, assuming they give him a red shirt as a freshman.

And while on the recruiting trail, Dylan McCaffrey, a junior at Valor Christian High School, said "I never met anyone who had anything bad to say about Michigan."

ha ha. Wasn't a banner year for Junk in '15. He was wrong about Harbaugh, Stanford beat his team (twice), as did the Ducks, Huskies, the Irish, even the Badgers got in on the act. His coach turned out to be a drunk and they hired a coach who has more staying power than herpes. Everytime there was a flare up, Clay Helton. So far he's 0-2 as the official coach, and that seems likely to get worse before it gets better.

He was also very wrong about Washington. Vegas set their win total at 4 before the 2015 season. When I told him I was taking the over 4 he had a hissy fit. The dude never could accept any team having a chance to do well in the Pac-12 besides his Trojans.

BigDaddy/Junk and I go back years ago to another site. The CFB site was like a desert until he and I started posting and then
it became one of the better forums on the site. BD and I never had one single problem...we focused on CFB. Now, here at
theRX things changed some I admit. He can be aggressive, and stir the pot. But he loved CFB and was more knowledgeable
than many here give him credit for. Lot of good posters at this network who cross the line...make enemies...but still get posters
on the keyboard. IT'S UP TO THE MODERATORS TO TAKE CONTROL AND SETTLE THINGS DOWN WHEN NECESSARY.

Doubtful any #1 QB will take a redshirt. If so he isnt a true #1 rank.

Michigan must love Game 10 of their schedule. After last year's double overtime win over
Indiana (48-41), the Wolverines are now 18-1 straight up playing the 10th game on their
schedule.

Pretty dang strong................
