As for MSU, I'm taken back by the level of accusations, but I can't stand the trail by the media. I know how fucked up those assholes in the media can be. But public perception is going to destroy MSU now. Once this snowball starts rolling, there's no stopping it, it becomes an avalanche. Look what happened to the Duke lacrosse team a few years ago. The greatest lies contain an element of truth, and that small piece of truth gives credibility to all the bullshit.
I do believe there are some issues at MSU, but I don't tend to believe it's just an issue for them. I'm thinking this is a cultural thing, and probably happens throughout this country at many schools. That being athletes have gang sex with either drunk or somewhat promiscuous female students that weren't really prepared for what was about to happen. In many cases it starts as consensual, to some degree anyhow, but doesn't end that way. I don't believe most of these cases are forcible rape from the very beginning, but I don't know where to draw the line and there's no blanket or uniform answer either. Each and every case or accusation has to be decided on it's own merits.
