I didn't know they had instant replay for the LPGA.

Or in this case, time-delayed replay.

Wie

This Will Only Boost The Ratings Of The Next TV Tour Stop She Plays.
It Will Give Her More Publicity
It Will Increase Her Awareness To The Non Golfing Public
Right Or Wrong It Equates Into More Exposure Which Equates To More Dollars. After Signing An Initial Endorsement Contact Worth Over 10 Million The Money Lost Here Is A Total Non-Issue.
THere Are An Infinate # Of Rules Officials At All Tour Events So This Is A Non Issue Also. (Obvious Rule Infraction)
The Disqualification Should Obviously Taken Place After The Completion Of The Round In Question And I Agree With Other Posters That This Was Not Done So That More Revenue Could Be Generated On Sunday.
If This Was Not A Marquee Appearance It Would Not Even Make The News. AS One Who Has Played In Countless Pro Events In My Lifetime
(With NO Success Whatsoever) This Is AS Stupid And As Greedy AS It Gets

I remember, a few years ago, a PGA player getting disqualified because a TV viewer called somebody up to report what he thought was a violation of the rules based on what he saw while watching at home; when tournament officials checked it out they discovered he was right. Oh well, that's the "sport" of golf.

Amazing tht everyone is rushing to defend Michelle Wie when she clearly cheated in her first tour event. Her drop was on patch of grass closer to the hole.....had she dropped where she was supposed to she would have been in the sand. It's not simply a cute teenageer making an honest mistake..I've played golf for over 25 years and there is know way you can mistakenly take a drop over a foot closer to the hole, especially when it was such a huge advantage to do so. SHe and her caddy were caught breaking the rules, and yet everyone rushed to attack the reporter that brought the infraction to light. Isn't anyone else out there sickened like I am that this young girl cheated in her first tournament? Dropping the ball no closer to the hole is not rocket science.....and you can't possible be off by over a foot without intending to do so.
