This is good news.

After a website in error associated the founder of Rockstar Energy Drink - Russell Weiner - with his father Michael Savage's regular use of virulent anti-gay commentary on his national radio show, Weiner announced that his company was donating $100,000 to gay-friendly organizations.

The announcement:

ROCKSTAR Energy Drink CEO Russell Weiner announced today that the beverage company will expand its LGBT corporate policies and make $100,000 in donations, shared among several prominent LGBT organizations. The donations represent a significant contribution given ROCKSTAR's relatively small staff of 120 employees. The contribution will be shared among the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), and The Trevor Project, and ROCKSTAR Energy Drink will also financially sponsor the National LGBT Bloggers Initiative. The donations and affirmation of LGBT-friendly corporate policies mark steps by ROCKSTAR to demonstrate support for the LGBT community.

"It has recently come to ROCKSTAR's attention that there might be a misconception about our company's policy and my personal support for LGBT rights," said Weiner. "We apologize for that misunderstanding, and want to make clear today that our company fully supports our LGBT employees and our LGBT customers. Some have erroneously associated our company with offensive language directed at LGBT people, specifically statements coming from Michael Savage, who is not and has never been a shareholder or officer of ROCKSTAR Energy Drink. On behalf of our company and directors, including myself and CFO Janet Weiner, I would like to take this opportunity to disavow any offensive statements directed toward LGBT people, including statements from Michael Savage. ROCKSTAR assures our customers and the general public that our brand will never be associated with any language that does not affirm the essential dignity of every person in our diverse national community."

He says the "company" disavows the remarks. Never knew a company could speak but regardless the title says his son disavows, i dont see his son saying he personally disagrees with anything...

You think this is genius?

Now, the illness du jour is autism. You know what autism is? I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is.
What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, "Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, idiot."
Autism -- everybody has an illness. If I behaved like a fool, my father called me a fool. And he said to me, "Don't behave like a fool." The worst thing he said -- "Don't behave like a fool. Don't be anybody's dummy. Don't sound like an idiot. Don't act like a girl. Don't cry."

Savage is an idiot.

Michael Savage is a genius and a true patriot.

No. "They" don't care what you teach your kids. "They" are already in the military. And "they" don't care if you accept their lives for being as legitimate as your own.

Hope that relieves any pressure you may have been feeling

Fwiw, I could drive over to Clearwater Beach about five miles west right this moment and spot at least a couple hundred adult males dressed in less clothing than any of those photos that Willie posted

"They" are not seeking anyone's acceptance either.

sure they are. otherwise, seems like they could live their lives and leave everyone alone. i still live in a fairly conservative part of the world, but it's changing every day. used to, hell, even today still, people who hold to the virtues and values of of what they believed were accused of trying to ram their beliefs down everyone's throats -- however, that's exactly what the other side is doing as well. how many towns this year will elect to say "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas?" how many kids will be denied the opportunity to say the Pledge of Allegience? obama is distancing himself from being tied to any form of religion, and people say that's a good thing. just wait till election time. remember the primaries, when huckabee surprised everyone in the early stages? hell, that next sunday every candidate was making sure he got his press time at the nearest church. ole romney felt the heat, giving a big speech to explain his religion. late term abortion? give me a break. people say the child can't live outside the womb on its own -- well, what about the guy who gets in a serious wreck and has to be kept in the hospital for two months -- should we put him down because he can't live without care even though in two months he will be able to? maybe he can't talk and his nearest relative doesn't care -- should he be put down?

a person oughta be able to live as he wishes as long as he ain't hurting anyone, but i'll be damned if i gotta say to my boy, "it's okay to do that", but at the same time i gotta watch what i say because i don't want my boy thinking it's okay to hate. i mean, if a person wants to pick his nose in public -- well, whatever, but don't go trying to convince the world that it's a proper thing. i could just keep my mouth shut, deal with it, and vote every two years. yeah. didn't mean to cut loose in your thread barman.
