MJ does not believe in spoiling his girlfriend. He just bought a house in Miami with her for 281,000. He took out a 30 year mortgage.

Yvette Prieto and Michael Jordan playing house in Miami

Tribune staff report
February 25, 2009

Yvette Prieto, a Cuban model, and Michael Jordan have taken a 30-year mortgage and are playing house in a modest suburban Miami residence.

Yvette Prieto, 30, and Michael Jordan, 46, co-own a three-bedroom home that property-appraisal records list as having three bedrooms and 5,500 square feet, according to Miami-Dade County records.

None of the neighbors called by the Palm Beach Post realized that the six-time NBA champion is on the deed of the two-story villa. Said the sexy-voiced Prieto: "I can't talk about the house just yet. Sorry."

The couple, last spotted together at the NBA All-Star Game, paid $281,000 for it in a down market. They took out a 30-year, $196,000 mortgage. Why did one of the best-paid NBA players take out a mortgage? Probably because Prieto, who's also a mortgage holder, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2002. It took her two years to straighten out her finances.

G Money tell more please. Five years ago i was at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. i was asking the Valet about some celebrities tipping habits. He told me MJ with the wife was no good. Without the wife he was good for a c-note for the luggage to the room.

There could be more to it than most people think! Believe it or not, these ultra wealthy celebs experience real personal problems related to money! Most of them probably start out generous loving people who become disenchanted when their money shows them the true colors of their loved ones or people they thought they loved. They have been beat down, tapped out (not financially but emotionally) by multiple heartbreaks and betrayals from their loved ones evolving around money.

So they develop a stigma about money and anything connected to it. They become suspicious of every one and every thing and try their best to make sure that all their relationships are based on anything else but money.

(some of them develop full on pscyhosis and lock themselves out of public life for good.

Look up the history of the wealthiest men in america. You will see a whole bunch of them with stories like these (and several nut house cases as well.)

That house is probably a sign of some one trying to get a taste of a life he never experienced and probably secretly wishes he had.

I have played golf with him many times...When you beat him which was often, He does not pay, always some excuse,..But when he wins he will not let you off the green without paying. Now I'm not saying he never paid but it was like pulling teeth to get it. And very rarely does he ever pick up a check, when I have been with him. He also tips the caddies like shit, Usally flat rate and 20.00 on top of that..And let me tell you his caddies work there ass off.

I don't know why Blacks don't tip well, but as an Indian, I can tell you tipping is not common place in India and these fuckers that move here, think they can do the same here.

I was out with a friend of mine's family and we were dividing up the bill and it was around $450 for 10 people and so its $50 per person or $100 per couple. So, I paid it and then after we were leaving, i went back inside and gave the waiter and extra $50, an apologized.

I so f'in embarrased.

I have waited tables, so I understand how hard they work, but don't go out to eat if you can't afford to tip.

Why wouldn't he mortgage it? Come on.

Mortgage rates at 20 year lows. Tax rates for those that earn in excess of $250k/year about to get bumped up.

Do the math for christ sake. 5.10% on the 30 year mulitiplied by the current max income tax rate of 35%. This means that without taking into account the mortage interest deduction he would only have to yield a taxable equivalent of 3.30% on the money that he otherwise would have plopped doen on the house.

Do you think you can earn in excess of 3.20% interest on your money over the next 30 years?

You can get AAA Munis (GO's) earning 5% tax fuckin free.

most of your athletes are cheap because they grew up in poverty and its just a life style they have become accustomed to. I think alot of them are in fear of losing their money. I also think its a cultural thing. It just seems that in alot of the minorities tipping is not to high up on the scale of things to do.

At the tables very cheap. He comes in and buys in for a large amount and wants certain things for him available. He then plays for a bit and walks away and the dealer has to stay there waiting for him to come back even if its 4 hours. Then from what I understand he rarely tips at the finish even if he wins a bunch.
