"Perhaps providing an early clue that he'll be the team's go-to receiver," writes beat reporter Matt Maiocco. Crabtree didn't catch a single pass from Alex Smith until midseason of last year due to a prolonged contract holdout. It may not fully show up in his fantasy stats due to shaky quarterback play, but Crabtree is likely to become a big-time player in year two.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Crabtree played mostly split end last year after joining the team midway through the season. With a full offseason of practice under his belt, Crabtree will be comfortable at flanker and in the slot as well. He's the obvious No. 1 receiver in San Francisco and is an upside play in fantasy.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Crabtree missed all of last year's minicamps due to injury and training camp while holding out. He still caught 48 passes for 625 yards in 11 games simply by winging it. With an actual understanding of the playbook now, Crabtree is one of our favorite mid-round value picks at the receiver position.

Michael Crabtree - WR - 49ers

Michael Crabtree moved into the slot for three-wide receiver sets during OTAs, with Ted Ginn entering at split end.

The Niners run fewer three-wide sets than most teams, but they now have the personnel to take advantage on passing downs. Already a well-rounded receiver capable of running all routes, Crabtree should overtake Vernon Davis as the 49ers' leading pass-catcher this year.
