Man how times are changing - this USF team could blow way beyond Rutgers - they're sitting in college football's best recruiting farm - where would you rather go to school - Talahassee with all the hicks or Tampa.

Mentioned 3-4 years on this very forum that within 4-9 years the USF program would be on par with those of the other BIG THREE in the state..........florida, FSU, and Miami and everyone thought WTF?(WISH I COULD FIND THAT THREAD).


Well, the time has come.

They are ranked higher than FSU and MIAMI.........by a longshot.

Right now the BIG EAST is one of the best football conferences in the nation........not the best, but definetly one of the very best.

WVU visits Tampa at the end of the month in what is shaping up to be a dandy of a game.

funny how the situation has turned out b/w big east and acc. everyone thought big east was dead when bc, vatech, and miami left .........

instead the acc is a joke (miami and vatech just got humiliated, uva punked by wyoming, fsu losing most of the game against awful uab, etc) and big east has 4 legit top 20 teams and a 2nd tier (pitt, cincy, uconn) vastly superior to the acc's.

only thing that is equal b/w the two conferences is that syracuse would be a PK at Duke

Agree that South Florida is making noise and Jim Leavitt's patience and solid recruiting has made South Florida a legit Top 25.. maybe even a Top 15 team in the nation.

But how can Leavitt not get this guy?

They will never be a consistent big time program over those other schools. USF facilities* and them being too much of a commuter school will hurt them in the long run.

Florida has the best high school football in the country - and that's not debatable - all Miami has to do is recruit Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach - and they will be top notch - there is still another 64 counties - of course UF is the big game - great campus and fun school - the only other school to directly compete with this Florida talent is FSU - where would you rather go - assuming USF has top notch facilities - Talahasse or Tampa? - of course, all the SEC tries to pull kids out of Florida but USF just has to surpass FSU and they can turn into a legitimate top 15 program.

Canes already have the #4 recruting class for next year and will back in the top 10 as soon as they get a QB... Wright and Freeman are the weak links on that team.

FSU will return to the top 10 as soon as the old man retires.
