I like the points here. Miami has a ton of speed and will run the ball. I see a close game and miami may very well win outright. Teasing miami at 5 dimes since they are posting 7 points so I will take that extra free point. Will play the points too.

VT defense is pretty good. Esp at home in Lane stadium. I expect VT to win by at least 10.

Miami defense is terrible and had no business being ranked when beating those high school teams ... VT at home on Thursday coming off a totally embarrassing effort ... IMO VT by double digits.

Hokies 21-10 ATS in their past 31 appearances on Thursday.

FYI I'm a huge Miami fan.

Any idea on that line movement here? Looks like Va Tech went from -3.5 to -5.5 on Tuesday and now settling in around -6.5 with the majority still backing the dog. Leads me to believe Va Tech is the play, although I made the game lower and those Hokies D legs could be tired after defending 100 snaps versus Syracuse 5 days ago.

I agree with your 100 snap assessment. The better play may be on the over!

CB Sheldrick Redwine ... sophomore who has started the last five games did not make the trip.

Also out ... starting DE Demetrius Jackson, rotational DT Gerald Willis and reserve DE Scott Patchan

Starting DE Chad Thomas “questionable"

With Jackson out, junior Trent Harris will start at Canes pass-rushing defensive end position. If Thomas cannot play, true freshman Joe Jackson will make his first career start. True freshman Pat Bethel and Anthony Moten, a junior defensive tackle, are available to play in reserve.

In Redwine’s place, grad student Adrian Colbert will start.

Both Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald and Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post are reporting that Thomas did not travel to Blacksburg with the team and will not play in the prime-time game against the Hokies.

So that confirms 3 defensive starters out tonight
