Well we won yesterday going 3-2 and had real good chances of sweeping based on history but that's gambling. The White Sox are up 3-0 going into the 4th and Oakland had not come from 3 runs or more down in 52 times and they erased that lead in the bottom of the 4th. Then there is the Cards game where we have a 4 run lead twice to lose against a very good SD team. Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, I'll take the winning day!
Today three plays.
* Cubs -1/2 F5 Sanchez has been about the same on the road as he is at home with a 4.00 era compared to a 3.30 era at home. The Marlins have gone under 5 of his 7 starts and the team has gone under 4 of the last 5. Darvish has a hm era of 2.57 compared to .45 on the rd. He has gone 6 innings or more in 11 of 12 starts but in his last 3 hm starts has given up 4, 3 and 3 runs. I think he pitches well and they win the first 5 innings but the gm and total are up for grabs for me.
* SD over 9 (Double Play) - SD had a great comeback and has momentum. They have used 9 relievers in the two games, six of them in both gms and only have 3 relievers who haven't pitched yet, including rookie Luis Patino who has given up 10 runs in 17 1/3 innings and has a K/BB ratio of 21/14, not good. Only two of the nine relievers used have thrown less than 20 pitches in the first two games. On the flip side, you have Flaherty going who is 2-2 on the rd with a 9.45 era compared to a 2.67 era at hm. He has only gone more than 5 innings twice in his nine starts including his first game back in July. This is going to be a slugfest.
* SD ov 5 F5
If you want more action, you might consider Yes run in 1st in the SD gm.
