Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson confronts fan who grabs him

That seemed to be what Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson told an overzealous Angels fan who reached out and touched him in the eighth inning on Friday night.


Granderson snagged a fly ball in the right field corner, and as he was about to throw the ball back into the infield, a fan put his hand on Granderson’s back. That didn’t sit well with the first-year Met.


”Say whatever you want to say, boo, cheer, clap, cheer for your team, cheer for the other team, but just don't physically touch the players,” the player told NJ.com.


Here’s the confrontation:

This comes the same week that Orioles outfielder Adam Jones said players should be able to cleat fans that run onto the field.

id say all and all Granderson handled the situation the right way it he seemed rather calm when he was talking to the fan and the fan knew he screwed up. So really good for Curtis in not making the situation more dangerous by going into the stands or losing his cool. could you imagine if it was milton bradley?

He reached out and touched his shoulder as he was getting ready to throw the ball back in.

Looks like as if the fan meant to pat the player on the back as if to say "Good Play" but miss judged the timing of the players actions of being in the act of throwing it back in. It's an Angel fan so I don't know why he would be patting the player on the back.
