Left at 6am, passed a few casinos, but didn't go in. Wanted to get a good jump so I can spend a couple days in SD, WY and Northern NV. before getting to Vegas.
Made it 800 miles and the only thing I can say is STAY THE F#@K OUTTA Iowa, what a shit hole. Sioux City sucks, I am here now.

Made it to Deadwood, SD today around 5pm local time.
Checked into the Holiday Inn, via priceline in Spear Fish , SD for $50 a night. We are here 2 nights.
AFter we got settled in we headed to downtown Deadwood. Place was getting a little crowded as they are celebrating Mardi Gras tonight, and tomorrow night.
We hit about 20 of the 82 casinos in town. They are all non-smoking, which is great! But their Video Poke is horrid, and the casinos are very small and have very few blackjack tables open. The max bet is $100
I walked around for about 2 hours, didn't find anything worth playing, and there wasn't enough games to find a steady stream of 4 deck games to backcount, so we headed back to the room.
On the way back, ran across a very nice casino outside dowtown Deadwood. They have DD, D10,11 only, S17. $5 min. They also have a 6 deck, $2 game, max $100 with DAS, DOA, S17, with about 75% pen, which is a very good game. I sat down, never really got a good count, ended up leaving down -$16 for 30 mins of play. Had my sister with me, and with me trying to keep track of what she was doing and me tracking the cards, turned into a hassal.
So, we headed back. Tomrrow she is going to drop me off while she hits some shopping. Hopefully, I will find some better positions.
Overall, VP sucks but BJ is decent.

Played some decent 2D, H17, DAS, DOA, 80% pen. Spread from $5-$40, walked out $87.50 up before table was over taken by Mardi Gras party goers.

BOISE BB... I do not think you would cut thru that far south.... you going thru ELY NV after wendover?? if so not much out there get gas before you hit a 120 mile stretch of UFO highway..lots of small towns to pass thru be careful speeding its 20-25 miles per hr in the those small cities with 1 cop they look for speeders

70's in vegas.... wow less then 3 weeks ill be there will be awesome
If you like Black Jack and it's in your path, check out Topaz Nevada. It's in the middle of nowhere right outside of Yosemite. But their rules are very liberal. they do 5 card charlie, let you surrender, double down on any 2 cards, double down after splitting, and all the other old fashion rules, can't think of them all. + its all single deck. they're limits are low though only $5-$500
