As noted, I don't disagree that if you talk enough shit at some point you will get your ass kicked. That is what happens when you are in HS. However, this wasn't a one on one (or even two on one) ass kicking at the flag pole after school. I do think there is a difference between what happened here and the typical fight in the HS cafeteria and with it comes more severe consequences. If this were your typical HS fight, fine, go your separate ways and be done with it, or, at the worst some community service. However, to me, this falls well outside the bounds of a typical HS fight and I personally think they deserve everything they get.

I totally agree. Even if they jumped at the school it would have been different. To draw her to a house and not let her leave after she repeatedly tried and didnt fight back thats crazy. I hate to see six on one either way but thats crazy. They could have got her at the mall or bus stop this would have been different. The kidnapping is what put it over the top.

They are reporting (with an independent witness) that the victim was told not to come in the house as the girls she had been talking shit about were in there. Who knows what is true though. I also have not heard of any "permenant damage" that she has suffered.

I live about 20 miles from where this happened, but I'm sure that this goes on everywhere.

I do some coaching at the high school level and I have exposure to high school kids every day. As I travel from school to school, I see more and more kids. There is one thing that I see in common with almost every high school kid that I've come across in the last few years:

They are incapable of shutting their mouths. These kids talk shit constantly. I've seen kids talk shit to each other, talk shit to me, talk shit to opposing coaches, talk shit to officials, talk shit to their parents, and talk shit to other parents. We've had an unusually high number of kids tossed out of games for using foul language while talking shit, even immediately after being warned. One of my coaching friends tells me that it's worse in middle school and he might be right.

It sounds as if they're talking shit online as well.

They will be charged with felonies. Then they will all cut some pussy ass deal with another worthless prosecutor. A little time at the animal shelter helping out dogs and cats. Maybe a small fine and a dismissal of the charges after a year or two. That's all that's going to happen. We'll all forget about the story in a month or two when the sentence is handed down. You can count on that. We'll be onto the next school shooting, serial rapist or master bank robber.

Good news though. We have lots of blame to go around:
