Their bowl ban has been lifted starting this year and as of next year, they will have their full compliment of scholarships back.

Good news for a bunch of kids and coaches punished for absolutely nothing they did wrong.

Strange the news comes out just as the Big Ten gets embarrassed in all of their national games the past 2 weekends. Why now, randomly in the middle of the 2nd week? Was this a significant date? Was there an appeals pending? Just ts seems as though Delaney went begging to the NCAA after all his teams were ripped seeing PSU looked halfway decent and might be their only hope into a playoff. If true, that is pathetic.

Also Enfuego, coaches punished? Are you fucking kidding me? James Franklin is punished because his team could not play in a bowl game? Last time I checked he took millions to willingly leave Vandy to come to PSU with his staff. I would not call that punished. Same with the starting QB and half the team, they willingly decided to go to PSU. Nobody put a gun to their head so I don't see how they are being punished.

Yeah, I think it came out yesterday because there is a guy that was appointed years ago to oversee the progress of the program and he recommended the actions and the NCAA agreed with him.

You don't think it's a punishment to not go to a Bowl Game? Kids and coaches love to play in these games. They boost recruiting and exposure for the program not to mention make money for the program. James Franklin would get paid millions whether at PSU or not.

Since the media world was blowing up with Ray Rice news yesterday I wonder if they said "Quick, let PSU off the hook, nobody will notice!"

face)(*^%

Seriously, I am not sure how this all makes any sense. What, exactly, has Penn State done to make these HUGE strides regarding integrity? Hired a woman AD?

James Franklin is a piece of shit and it isn't clear to me what is so great in Happy Valley...

ncaa and big 10 needed to still keep hope alive that two unbeaten teams can meet in big 10 championship. obviously MD, Rut, and Indy will lose at some point so State Penn is their only hope from the supposedly monster eastern division. money talks....27 victims (and counting) stay quiet

All the main scumbags from that scandal are gone or dead. No reason not to do this now. You think those victims families are comforted that psu can't play in a bowl game?

I like your "they can just transfer" . Man you say some dumb shit

you're telling me the kids at the program 2 years ago weren't given a choice to transfer without penalty you piece of total shit? you never get any fucking thing right so why would you have any idea what you're talking about this time?

it's eastern PA nutters like you that hold this program to cult status that allowed everything to happen in the first place. ignorant, jobless, penniless fuck

Listen you dumb fuck...we all know the kids were given a choice...your reading comp is just awful. I know you think it's easy for a 20 year old kid to just pick up and leave a place he loves and transfer. For an uneducated loser without friends, like you, not a problem to do that but for kids who have established relationships with friends and educators at the school...it isn't an easy decision. I don't even like penn st football, let alone hold it to a cult status.

Go sell your lousy soccer picks you boiler room, broke, souless dummy.

For people like Roll Tide, who only has the love of his dogs, who have to love him because he feeds them....he doesn't understand these concepts. Establishing relationships with friends, girlfriends, teammates, professors and advisors over 2 years....isn't always easy to just drop....especially for young kids. Unfortnately guys like RT are everywhere...they think if things wouldn't or don't affect them....it shouldn't affect anyone

Makes no sense at all. Not to mention, let's say you love being a student athlete at Penn State but transfer after your sophomore season due to the sanctions and end up hating your new school. Now you're really screwed and essentially have no good options.

Of course. So many factors. It isn't as easy as "just transfer". Again, rt is clueless about everything so his comments come as no real surprise.

The punishments were stupid in the first place.

The only punishments should be for the individuals who were responsible for the actions and anyone negligent in reporting it. What do those individuals have to do with a student-athlete with no knowledge of the events? The kid shouldn't have to uproot their entire life because there were a few sick coaches he had no knowledge of. Otherwise, let's shut down the Catholic Church, Boy Scouts, YMCAs, boys and girls clubs while were at it...because they're all, apparently, "guilty by association".

I wonder if his narrative would be different if this was Bamer instead of Penn State......
