The boys over at yonkers would be doing flips of joy if it was true.In harness racing they are the best in the east.If they tried t-breds they could never compete with Belmont/aqu. never happen

thats my point. When they run the night tbred i would compare them to a 2nd rate venue(ie philadelphia, finger lakes etc..) but when they are running harness they are the #1 track in america.Would make no sense to get rid of their bread and butter.

the meadowlands just took a payoff along with other nj tracks from ac not to try to get slots.i doubt after getting that score the meadowlands would sell to churchill.plus if the xanadu project goes through the meadowlands racetrack and arena are suppose to be torn down.

The Meadowlands in recent years has even shortened the thoroughbred meets more and more. They are now down to just about September and October only. The rest of the year is harness racing and there was talk a while ago of even eliminating the thoroughbred meet altogether and extending Monmouth Park's meet into the fall instead.

Harness racing at the Meadowlands gets way better attendance, handle, etc. than when they have thoroughbred racing there. I can't possible picture them wanting to extend thoroughbred racing in any way there.
