Athletics -121 over Anaheim (10 units)
The red hot Oakland Athletics take on the slumping Anaheim Angels tonight in Anaheim. The Anaheim Angels have lost 3 games in a row and 9 out of their last 11. They are in a terrible rut and the send a pitcher in a terrible slump out to the hill to try to stop the bleeding tonight. Jarod Washburn has been, and I am being nice when I use the word, horrible of late. On the season he is 8-10 with a 4.92 era but his struggles have been maginifined of late. He has given up less than 4 er's just ONCE in his last 7 starts. In his last outing he lasted just 3.1 innings and allowed 10 ER's. Washburn is 0-1 with a 5.68 era in 2 outings against the A's this season. On the other side, the A's have won 4 in a row and 6 of 7 and send Barry Zito to the hill tonight. Though Zito has not been pitching well this season, lately he has been throwing a little better. He is still 8-8 with a 3.34 era on the season, which is respectable. He has given up more than 4 er's just twice in his last 9 outings. He is the better pitcher heading into tonights game.
I see Zito holding the slumping Angles bats in check tonight and the red-hot A's extending Jarod Washburns slump a little longer.
Play on A's -121 (10 units)
Rest of slate:
A's RL +135 (3 units)
D-Backs +119 (2 units)
