Donavon McNabb is affirming what Rush Limbaugh said about him. Since the media is desirous to see McNabb succeed and are hesitant to criticize him I thought I better tell it like is. He is a 100 million dollar flop.

Lets hope that the Eagle offense and McNabb can hold them.

Be careful!!

The political correctness police will be knocking on your door if you continue to see and tell the truth!

In fairness, McNabb seems like a nice guy and did not bring any of this on himself. Just because he is over-rated by the media, does not make him a bad black quarterback.

Actually, McNabb is not a bad black quarterback. He is a mediocre black quarterback, regardless of his $100 million contract.

p.s. For the record, I have no evidence that McNabb is promoted unfairly by the media. His status as mediocre, however, is undisputable.

McNabb with Steve McNair arguably the best black QB in the NFL (Michael Vick included). The last two years look like this:

McNabb 2001 58% pass Comp. 25 TDs 12 Int 84.3 QB rating.

2002 (only 10 games) 58% pass comp 17 TDs 6 ints 86 QB rating.

NcNair 2001 61% pass comp 21 TDs 12 Ints 90 QB rating
2002 61% pass comp. 22 TDs 15 Ints 84 QB rating.

Not a whole lot of difference. But what do I know?

It's not like you to use stastistics to deflect the truth, so I can only assume you have not updated to include this year.

Donovan: 55 - 111, 0 td, 3 int., 51.1 rating

Steve: 77 - 111, 8 td, 1 int, 110.9 rating.

These stats are before today's games.

Not sure really what this comparison has to do with McNabb being overrated. If McNabb were purple, his performance would still be mediocre.

I am not really arguing the issue. I just brought up the stats from the last two years to make a comparison and possibly shed some light on why McNabb is paid what he is. Personally, in all fairness, I think we should wait until the season is at least into the final month. At that point, we can have a much better overall picture of the plight of the McNabb led Eagles. If they are leading their division and heading for the playoffs then nobody will be talking about how much he is making.

Fair enough with me. Actually, I had no idea how much money McNabb made until all this erupted.

I must say, however, that the GM who agreed to McNabb's contract has access to better stuff to smoke than I do.

I read on the ESPN message board that McNabb has practically the same career stats(completion pct. and QB rating) as Jeff Blake. Because of McNabb's ridiculous salary the Eagles have been forced to let go key players to make it under the salary cap. It is going to destroy the team.

i agree. i defended mcnabb in other threads, but the salary condition is a completely different issue. mcnabb was never some brilliant flashy QB to warrant that kind of money. teams regularly plug in back ups that do as well as he has if not better. the QB position is incredibly overated. now there is something that doesnt get discussed.

QB's dont even have to make good descions any more. the coach is screaming in his head set telling him what to do. make accurate throws and have quick legs. and have a comprehension of the english langauge, so you can listen to coach tell you who to fire it to or to run away from the potential sack. theres a ton of guys that can do that. letting a rb/wr like kordell be QB is just plain stupidity. I cant feel bad for the guys continually giving him a chance.
