Can anyone remember when the eagles with these
two won a nfc conference championship game or superbowl
as a favorite? I don't think so.

They're good but not top caliber for nfl

As Cowherd on ESPN was saying today - if Arizona hadn't converted that 4th and 1 while trailing late in the 4th quarter, people would be raving about McNabb's greatness today.

McNabb has to be one of the most unappreciated QBs in the NFL. He's constantly critisized despite leading his team to 5 NFC Championship games!?!?! "They're good but not top caliber for nfl..." - I disagree. McNabb is a top caliber QB.

Mcnabb is a great QB. Is he the best clutch player, no but the defeat the other day was hardly his fault. 375 yards and 3 TD's is a preety good game if you ask me. Put up McNabb's numbers to some of the other greats and you can see how he stacks up. For example, put his numbers side by side against Troy Aikmans. McNabb has a better win %, more TD passes, way less INT's, a better QB rating, he'll have more passing yards after next year. By the way he did this with way, way less talent on the offensive side of the ball. The only year McNabb had a good WR (T.O.) he had 31 TD's and 8 INt's and a 105 QB rating. Aikman had a hall of fame WR and the leading rusher of all time playing with him. McNabb has had guys like Fred X.

Easy, I do disagree with you on this. Against the Cards, if his throws in the first half were better, they would not of been down 24-6. His second half play was much better, but you could see, he was throwing behind the receivers, and too low on many passes in the first half.

Anyway though, he is a good QB, but he plays for Philly, and hate to say it but Philly fans would throw their own grandma under the bus if it meant winning the whole thing. Regardless, the city of brotherly love is only there if you win the World Series, NBA championship, or the Superbowl, otherwise in Philly, you ain't sh*t.

I agree he made some bad passes in the first half and at the end of the game. He was under constant pressure in the first half also. I really think if he had a better WR core he would do better. Seriously look at his stats the year and a half he played with T.O. And I also agree Phily fans are never ever happy. These are the fans that booed Santa. But he's a very good QB that should make the hall of fame.

Hello degengambler...

That's a loaded question my friend as anyone that has been following and/or knows anything about NFL football could tell you that under the Andy Reid-Donovan McNabb regime the Eagles have only made one Super Bowl appearance and lost against the favored New England Patriots...

...I say the question is "loaded" because in order to MAKE it to the Super Bowl a team HAS to win an AFC or NFC Championship and since we know that the Eagles have only advanced ONCE to the Super Bowl under the Andy Reid-Donovan McNabb regime and lost to the Patriots the question is really null and void...

To answer your original question, a look-see into the ole history book reveals that the Eagles were actually an -8 point favorite against Atlanta in the 2004 NFC Championship game and won by the final score of 27-10 before going onward to play in the Super Bowl against New England where the Eagles were installed as 7 point doggies...

...Philly didn't win straight up against the Pats in a 24-21 Super Bowl loss, however, they made me lots of money by covering the spot!!

Take care and be well

Guys, thanks

For the feedback..
Mr dirty dog, my memory isn't the best, but i thin k
they lost to oakland raiders in the superbowl.

I was born and raised in philly-no longer there--
and i want success for the team, the qb, and the coach.

I don't see andy reid as a great game coach especially
after halftime.

Mcnabb, i see as capable, but remember that tampa bay
comference championship game?? He was horrible, and i
guess i judge too harshly when i say in the must win games
for the team and the fans, either he or the play calling
just doesn't get it done.

However, i am not a gnerneral manager, just a man with an
opinion, and i respect all the intelligent comments contributing to this thread.

Peace and best wishes to all--and may we see an
exciting super bowl

Hello degengambler...

In my response I did not include the results of the Philly-Oakland Super Bowl as the Eagles head coach in that one was Dick Vermeil and the Eagle QB was Ron Jaworski and in your original question you asked about the Andy Reid-Donovan McNabb combination...

Take care and be well

Why wont they get him good receivers? For a team that throws about 60 percent of the time you would think they would give him some weapons

McNabb has aside from Owens has has the worst WR's in football. All things considering, he has put up some pretty good numbers without a good receiver. That being said does anyone remember him driving his team down the field late in a game for a go ahead score? In a lot of people's eyes this is one aspect that defines greatness. One last thought, do you think Fitz would allow himself to get knocked off balance like Curtis did on the 4th down play from incidental contact?

Thanks G

This is what people will never understand. McNabb carries the blame for every eagles loss. Coach makes bad play calls, its McNabbs fault. 3rd ranked Defense in the NFL gives up 32 pts... yep, you guessed it, blame McNabb. WRs want the ball to hit them in the chest or the wont try to catch it... guess who's to blame for that.

As a die hard eagles fan, a native chicagoan, and a McNabb fan, I am so tired of NFL fans (eagle fans, sports casters, and bettors) all placing the blame on him. No other qb receives that kinda shit.

The game was loss because Akers choked, not once, not twice, but 3 TIMES!

The game was loss because the defense DID NOT show up... EVER!

Anyone who loss money on the game, should be mad at AKERS. Those 4 pts missed and the good field position from that f---d up punt that resulted in a TD for the Cards is the reason why you lost money and I wasted money on a flight, tickets and a hotel!!

McNaab has put on far too much weight and Reid is in the "Mangino" category; a bad receipe for winning championships.

Reid's weight problem was covered up when he played in "cold weather" Phildelphia (large coats/jackets); he was exposed in the "shirt sleeve" conditions in Arizona.

He should go to the "fat farm" and lose some weight.

He is a very rich "worst big game" quarterback. Do these multi-millionaires really really care?
