Oh, lookie, another speech dedicated entirely to the 'war on terror' ... in this one, "Iraq" appears twice.

Bin Laden's name doesn't surface at all.

That it's all rhetoric and fluff and is designed to give the impression that 'something is being done.' In reality, they're not addressing what has atually been done simply because all efforts thus far have been disastrous.

You won't hear Bin Laden's name in this convention because they failed to catch him. You won't hear much about Iraq because it's a disgrace. Just a bunch of War on Terror bunk to keep you just worried enough, and reassured enough, that your CIC can protect you from that which he's messing up. More talking points and sound bites for the media and the masses. Pure rhetoric.

Fifty bucks says democracy will not be the result, even in ten years, of Bush's actions of late. Iraq will likely turn into a theocracy by the looks of things, which is still fine for the US so long as it is America-friendly.

I wonder if al-Sadr will be allowed to run for President?

xpanda - you're a Canadian - what do you know about Democracy?

You people are all socialists - the Canadians with get up and go, got up and left (for the US of A of course).

Why don't you go shoot an Indian - you Canadians are good at that.

Canada treated (and continues to treat) its native population abysmally. I won't argue with you there.

As for not knowing anything about democracy, I believe voter apathy is much worse in the US than here, so you're wrong on that one. Or did you think our Prime Minister was appointed by himself? Nor are we socialist, but I don't expect you to be able to make the distinction between taxation for health care and taxation for imperialism. It's really just a matter of priorities.

Xpanda,

I wonder why so many Canadians say in CR that it's better to be a bum than to be employed in Canada.

If the republicans were smart politically, which sometimes they are, they would dedicate an entire speech about the man, bin laden. They would educate Americans on bin laden and then see how these Americans would vote. Bring up all bin ladens atrosities against Americans, foriegn and abroad.

The demis would crawl under their desks with embarrasement and then come to the only conclusion they can, spin it.

Create a bin laden card. Debate, if one can even debate, bin ladens atrosities.

"KEEP THE COWBOY IN 2004 AND HERE COMES ARNOLD!

An interesting side bet. Will Arnold do what worked before, again. Call the demis girliemen?

Yes -100
No -100

Too many Stupid Americans for Kerry to overcome. To think that Iraq had anything to do with terrorism is retarded. Best line I have heard in awhile was from a U.S. Marine in Iraq when asked what he would ask Donald Rumsfeld on his upcoming visit to Iraq, "I would ask him for his resignation".

Not sure how you measure that, and I've never been to an American hospital, so it's difficult to comment. I am guessing, tho, that you've never been to a Canadian hospital, either. At any rate, every Canadian is covered, regardless of employment or income or health issue. You don't have to stay at a job you hate because you're worried about losing your health coverage for a condition you currently have. That kind of thing. I consider it a valuable service and one that is as dear to us as your right to bear arms.

I rather pay 35% in taxes than the 65% with good health care that also will pay some guy that can work but wouldn't.

ONCE AGAIN, YOU BRING UP THE ABORTION ISSUE, AND ONCE AGAIN, I DARE YOU TO TELL THIS FORUM HOW YOU WILL ENFORCE THE LAWS IF ABORTION IS DECLARED ILLEGAL. ARE YOU A COWARD TO RESPOND TO MY CHALLENGE.
YOU PROBABLY ARE. TELL THIS FORUM WHAT YOU WILL DO TO WOMEN WHO HAVE AN ABORTION, THAT YOU BELIEVE IS ILLEGAL.
IS THIS WHAT YOU WILL DO TO THEM.

Sonny,
Murder is murder. I would hope that TT would treat these scumbags the same way he would any other murder one offender.

If you choose to sympathize with baby slaughterer then so be it - that is just one of many rights that you, unlike murdered babies, are free to wrongfully exercise.

Where did you get those figures from? Made them up, did you? Do you honestly think an additional average of 30% would be required to fund health care? I pay 21% in income taxes. And, no, I'm not in one of the über-low tax brackets. Nobody pays 65%. (Nobody with an accountant who graduated, at least.) Besides, are you aware that your gov't pays more per capita in health care per year than mine? AND you pay out-of-pocket on top of that.

Once again, the abortion debate is being brought up by the Rep. platform and by you in your argument.
Let me first tell you that I am against abortion and let me also tell you that I firmly believe in a persons right to choose. That said, you will know where I am coming from.
Let us take what you said and pick it apart. First of all, you refer to a unborn fetus as a baby. I believe that it is a fetus, like most people refer to it and not a baby until it is concieved. You also state that women who do terminate a fetus should be executed, I believe that is what you said. With that statement, I guess you do not give much regards to life, as you put it.
Every person should be able to make informed decisions about reproduction free from intrusion by the Government.
To go back to the the way it was before Roe V Wade, would put this Country in the dark ages once again. If this Rep. Party wants to be a uniter not a divider than they do not show it by there platform.
The abortion issue should be left to the people it impacts more. Not to you and a handful of Politicians.
