When talking about spending, he didn't do an effective job of communicating that Obama is an earmark whore. He mentioned spending a few times, but in a very ineffective mocking tone.

When talking about tax cuts, he never mentioned the fact that Obama has history of opposing tax cuts while supporting tax increases, that more likely than not, his tax cut promises are just political spin. He never mentioned the fact that if Obama allows Bush's tax cuts to expire, as he and the Democrats want to do, that will result in massive tax increases.

On abortion, when Obama denied his positions on abortion on demand for anyone @ anytime, even when the baby is still alive, he should have pointed out that Obama said

1) Barack Hussein Obama, arguing against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act at the Illinois state legislature in April 2002, coldly claims that two doctors helping a baby born alive after a botched abortion would be a burden for the aborting mother...

What human being is so extreme that he would oppose saving even living infants

it's just the nature of a debate. If McCain offers up strong justification for points against Obama all BHO needs to do is say "that's not true". People don't find out for a day or two what the real truth is and, by then, it's too late since most folks have already formed their opinion.

Minus a 6 week span...this has been a campaign that can't have a consistent message. When they do....they simply can't stay on message

Maybe it's easy to play monday morning quarterback but the mistakes they've made are plentiful.

Obama flat out lied to the American people about his position on abortion, he clearly argued for the justification of infanticide, and McCain gives him a free pass.

I really feel for the die-hard McCain supporters. The frustration must be intense.

I like McCain, I think he's one of the nation's best public servants and he's given tremendously to the country. I don't think he has the right temperament for the the job. That's my opinion, and I've had that opinion of him for years.

What I thought the "swing/undecided" voter needed to hear last night to drive them toward McCain:

1. I am not George Boosh, mutherfukker. (check)

2. I have a comprehensive economic plan, and that includes tossing Paulson off the side of the boat.

3. Karl Rove and his henchmen made me pick Palin. I'm replacing her with Joe Lieb.

Most importantly: he needed to hammer on one simple point that I don't think the average J6P yahoo really gets: Balance of Power.

Honestly, I think that is his strongest and most saleable point. He needed to look straight into the camera and tell the middle one thing: You don't want to give the Demo's control over all 3 branches folks.
Look what happened the last time a party had that same "triumvirate", clusterfuck-city.

:hump:

One out of 4 ain't gonna cut it.

He should attack the financial management team, no problem there.

Palin is not the problem, and I wish Rove was running his campaign.

I don't think the balance of Power is an issue that resonates, you gotta keep it simple and cute, sadly. However, bringing the Democratic leadership into the debate is actually a very good idea.

How about "Senator Obama and the Democratic leadership in Congress, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, want to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, that will result in massive tax increases to the middle class".

Pelosi, Reid & Obama have spent their entire careers espousing bigger government solutions for you, more taxes not less, the worst thing you can do to any economy.
