For each MAC team so far, it was a huge game, whereas Arizona, Utah St, and Temple were very disappointed.
Akron wanted to win their 1st bowl game, EVER! Bowden!
Temple didn't give a shit, they'd played goddam Notre Dame, then lost the championship game to Houston.
Etcetera.

dating back to last year the MAC has covered 5 straight. no idea what Daigo is talking about as they had never covered more than 3 straight bowl games before this week but impressive run they're on

as far as reasoning my guess is that there has been an influx of transfers to the MAC from big power-5 programs in the past 3 years. I know Pitt and Michigan have supplied several MAC schools with kids that they would never have been able to recruit out of high school but transferred due to coaching changes. Then you have kids like Phillip Ely who was stuck deep on Bama's QB depth chart so took a transfer to Toledo. These 4-5 star kids are absolute game-changers in the MAC where they might never see the field at the school that originally signed them

Mac was solid all year in out of conference games. Try watching some games during the season, it'll help.

true, even if you put it in a cunty smarmy way

33-19-2 ATS non conference YTD

but, again, this came from nowhere as the MAC hadn't produced >.500 OOC ATS record since 2008

There were some decent QBs in the MAC this year and up and coming coaches as well. Remember they had a good run to start the season against the B1G conference who usually beats them down. Like an idiot, I decided to play on SBC teams to start the Bowl season, need to avoid that garbage although I think Georgia Southern can cover, lol. Looks like cat may be out of the bag though as the Bet % on that Boise/No. Ill game all the way down to about 50/50 now.

Without looking back many years, I recall that the weaker MAC teams (that make a bowl game) have gotten hammered a lot. But the better 1 or 2 MAC teams have done pretty well. NIU being the exception. Toledo and Akron very impressive, Ohio was lucky to cover, this year.

the MAC still sucks....they had 2 good matchups there. overall...still not that good versus teams that probably care to be in the bowl game
