* Projected release date [FONT=Helv,Arial]is determined by the offense date and the nature of the offense. Offenses committed prior to 9-1-96, that are by Law eligible for Mandatory Supervision, will be released on their projected release date if they are not paroled.
Offenses committed 9-1-96 or after, that are by Law eligible for Mandatory Supervision, will be released at the discretion of BPP. For offenders not approved for release by BPP, or that are not eligible for Mandatory Supervision, the projected release date will be their discharge date

  • [*]If an offender committed their offense prior to 9/1/1996 and their offense is mandatory supervision eligible, the projected release date is calculated as their scheduled release date to mandatory supervision (if not paroled prior to that), when their time credits (flat time served plus good time earned) equal their total sentence.
    [*]If an offender committed their offense on or after 9/1/1996 and their offense is mandatory supervision eligible, the projected release date is calculated as their scheduled release date to mandatory supervision (if not paroled prior to that), when their time credits (flat time served plus good time earned) equal their total sentence AND the Parole Board has approved their release to mandatory supervision (per the Discretionary Mandatory Supervision law); however, if the Parole Board denies the release on mandatory supervision, the projected release date is recalculated to reflect the same date as the maximum expiration date, which is otherwise known as their discharge date. Subsequent reviews by the Parole Board that result in approval for mandatory supervision release result in the projected release date being recalculated to an earlier date to allow for mandatory supervision release processing to occur.
    [*]If an offender is incarcerated for an offense that by law is non-mandatory supervision eligible, their projected release date matches their maximum expiration date, when their time credits (flat time only) equals their total sentence and they therefore discharge their sentence when released (if not paroled prior to that).

Right now its 2 for 1...but they are reducing the number of inmates that are sent to do time...they are aloowing more probation and early release for inmates that have commited crimes that are not agrivated, Sexual, or capital offenses

Max how was your time?

Ha Ha just kidding.

I had it made in prison..:103631605
Since i had an education I worked for the maintenance department on the Unit I was assigned to. I worked 5 days a week , from 6-3 m-f. I had my own computer, my boss would let me make telephone calls, unlike others who have to work the fields w/ the weed wackers and tills...now that sucked.

Now keep in mind I had a 2 year sentence. I did one year flat and was paroled for the last year

bigdog;
I cant say how much time but I would expect anywhere from 10-25yrs and depending on your criminal background. Since its weed they wont throw the book at you like they would if it was 50lbs of Coke or Meth. A buddy of mine got busted w/ 2 kilos of coke and he ended up getting 25 yrs. He did 5 years and is out on parole.

No problem and Good Luck...keep in mind that the jails are overcrowding here in Texas and if at all possible they will try to put you on Probation or Parole...and they will give offenders w/ drug offences probation...
