he is trying to end careers, rolled up Korvers ankle last game and Al Horford was lucky to have pulled his leg today. Guy is obviously doing it on purpose and trying to scare other players off. Reminds me of Bruce Bowen landing on shooting players. Delladova should be getting a heavy fine and be warned by the league.

Once you realize he grewup in Australia it all starts to make sense. Played rugby growing up.

Those Aussies are nuts.

Honestly the Korver thing wasn't much. He dove for a ball. It's not his job to worry about other guys on the floor. The Gibson thing was bush league. As far as Horford tonight it's tough to say.

Yeah, I don't think the Korver thing was on purpose... But I could see how the Hawks players today were pissed and ready to retaliate, especially when it seemed to happen
again with Horford.

But then again, Bruce Bowen had a habit of planting his feet a little bit too close, just so he could get in the offensive player's head. Maybe Bowen didn't want to
purposely injure people, but it seemed like he wanted to make them nervous about landing. So, one can play recklessly not necessarily wanting to hurt someone, but
not going out of your way to prevent it either. Seems like there is a fuzzy line there at times...

Anyone who brings up the Korver play as evidence loses all credibility. That was the most routine play ever. He dove for the ball and Korver got rolled up. Simple basketball play. Shit happens.

Also had no problem with his play last night. Horford initiated the contact and grasped Dellavedova first. Dellavedova simply continued to try and shield Horford from the loose ball as he was going to the ground which was in part due to Horford's hold. Any attempt to call that malicious/ trying to roll his legs is really reaching.

Only dirty play was Horford losing his cool and trying to knock Dellavedova out.

If you watch the video from the previous series against the Bulls, Delladova put Taj Gibson in a leg lock, I'd call that a dirty play.

Allow me to chime in here. I've watched Dellavadova since he was a freshman at lil ol St. Mary's here in Moraga.

He is NOT dirty. He's a scrappy Aussy who goes 110% all the time. That's how he made it into the league.

He has a great shot but other than that he's not very athletic. He makes up for it in determination and tenacity.

He is not by any means dirty.

You know who's dirty? Matt Barnes.

Aggressive, not dirty. Some of his moves are Rugby moves. Rugby is football without officials, anything goes. I actually wish NFL Football was played like rugby, a true gladiator sport.

There's a fine line between playing hard and playing dirty.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova teeters along it every game.
Last year, Delly became something of a folk hero in the NBA Finals. But throughout the playoffs, the Australian point guard was at the center of several controversial plays involving Kyle Korver, Al Horford and Taj Gibson.
The Korver play, in particular, was heavily scrutinized since it knocked the Atlanta Hawks' sniper out of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Months later, the Los Angeles Times polled a slew of NBA coaches, assistants and players. Sure enough, Dellavedova was voted the league's dirtiest player.
Here's what Broderick Turner of the Times wrote:
The 24 people who spoke anonymously—some of them voted for more than one player—listed their top five dirtiest players:
Dellavedova received 13 votes. Oklahoma City center Steven Adams was next with seven votes. Golden State center Andrew Bogut (5), Memphis forward Matt Barnes (4) and Oklahoma City forward Serge Ibaka (2) rounded out the top five.
One Western Conference coach said that Dellavedova is "as dirty as they come. When you're hurting people, that is not OK."
An assistant from the East, who was described as "old-school," disagreed. He said Delly is just a scrapper:
He ain't dirty. He just plays hard. See, guys resent people that play hard because they don't want to play hard. So if a guy plays hard, he's dirty. He's not dirty. He just plays hard. People question the play he made in the playoffs against Korver. I just think it was poor judgment.
"A younger coach" in the East said what Dellavedova does "ain't intentional" but it is instead "goofy." He "is accidentally dirty. He can't help himself. He's a quality backup point guard."
While interesting, this is not surprising.
Regardless of what his peers and opposing coaches think, Dellavedova isn't going to change how he plays.

I agree, he is not dirty. He is aggressive, gritty and plays hard. He is not the tallest, quickest, most athletic or skilled player. His "go hard" style of play is why he is in the NBA. The league is just now a soft / "skill" based league.

No way would I ever say that about Steve Nash, that guy was incredible.

If you guarded him closely, he'd easily dribble past you, and if you gave him any space, he'd drop the J in your face.
