Evaluation of QB

QB's are responsible for all facets of game, including catching, offensive line and performance of defense, injuries, special teams and all coaching decisions [for both teams].

The only true was to evaluate a QB is by subjective opinion. You can always find appropriate stats to support whatever opinion you already have.

Eg Tim Tebow

If you like Tebow the best metrics are W/L record and victory over Steelers in playoffs, if you don't like him use QBR or completion %age.

In rare case when the stats do not support your subjective opinion ie if you don't like QB and he has good W/L record and good passing stats he is obviously a system QB or game manager. Eg Tom Brady as Cassel and Garrapolo as both were able to win in Patriots system.

I agree with Mr Gint- teams are judged on how they fare against winning competitors..so be it for QBS- that stat says an awful lot ...and i do mean awful..I have seen him have great games- but consistantly bad against the better ones- thats all that matters- winning against good competition...

Classic stuff, croaker. Well done!

As for Matthew Stafford he is a mediocre NFL starting quarterback who has earned over $100 million for his career. Not bad.

Unfair.
Detroit Lions and their coach are the problem.
Stafford is top notch.
Last 4 games his finger is in a plastic sling, looked like he was throwing hard yes but accuracy was off. And he was missing his starting LT, RT, and center though the center has been out several weeks.
He has had NO running game the last few years.
The coach should be fired.
If Stafford was the QB of the Cowboys or Atlanta (& a few others etc) he'd be considered a superstar.

If Stafford was the QB of the Bears he'd be Jay Cutler.

Hey, nobody said life was fair.

doesn't seem as if that's possible

it also means they obviously can beat bad teams on a consistent basis
