What's positive about this ???

Maybe I could post something like NFL & NBA players take a Stand for the Homeless in our Country ... or they take a stand for the violent crime rate that's up
this Year .... Thanks to Chicago , Los Angeles, Dallas, San Jose and Baltimore

Maybe they can take a Stand on all those Young Black kids killing other Black Kids. THAT would be a GREAT story to post !

I understand why they want to protest .. I just don't understand WHY they have to use National anthem to do it.
I would be FINE with them doing it BEFORE the Anthem, I would be even Fine with them doing it at Half Time... but I'm Not fine with them doing it
the way they are doing it.

I've said this before... Take out an AD ... a Banner or Billboard. Buy a spot on TV if you want to get the Word out.

But to ME, doing it while the National anthem is playing is Pissing on America ! and the people that Fought for it.
i think it has been restated multiple times that the kneeling is not related to the military so that even if members of the military are offended, just know that they aren't being targeted.
kneeling during the anthem is taking the time to pay respects to the people who they've believed have suffered an injustice. it could be done before or after the anthem, but i believe during the anthem just goes to show how important their cause means to them.

you can interpret it as them hating their country, but it's not the message they are trying to send. it's a reminder to everyone else that while america is great and we should celebrate its liberties, there are also a number of causes that need to be addressed and fixed.

Of course do as I say not as I do.:):) Typical. Move on nothing to see here.

you're having a conversation or argument with yourself

you did not even wait for any responses, you just made up your own.

and now you're suggesting you know how we behave, or that we responded, hence you're "weird"

as for me, I attended two Patriots games this year, I stood for the anthem and loudly cheered afterwards both times (and at every event I ever attended)

I have never in my life protested the national anthem, never even crossed my mind. Even when our President fucked up everything like Obama did for 8 years, I never protested the anthem. When our government let Americans get murdered in Benghazi and then lied about it, I never thought protesting the anthem would fix that.

And the issue is about "protesting", I suggest a comprehension 101 might help. You represent your ilk well

the first time any Patriot has participated in the protest

Belichick "I'll deal with that later", an interesting choice of words.

I'm thinking he's pissed, and maybe 20 people participated because they think there's strength in numbers. Maybe their behavior and their concerns about his reaction was a distraction for them yesterday

this stuff is getting fucked up

I love the fact that the Patriot fans booed them loudly, and New England is one of the most liberal regions in the country
This almost makes me respect Patriot fans. ; ) just kidding Willie.

Most of the players are clueless idiots. So, in England, they kneel for The Star-Spangled Banner, yet they stand for God Save the Queen? God Save the Queen is the anthem in which the British conducted the slave trade.

Why are they clueless idiots? Someone called them a son of a bitch and told them they should be fired for like 8 black players not standing. Frankly, if you don't understand yesterday you probably have never played a sport in your life. Or just an old racist idiot. One of those two things. Which is it?

Ben Roethlisberger: Steelers should have been on field during anthem

Ben Roethlisberger: Steelers should have been on field during anthem
ESPN
9/25/17

PITTSBURGH -- The Steelers will be on the field for the national anthem "moving forward," quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said alongside defensive end Cam Heyward at a press conference Monday at the team facility.

"What we do while we're out there is yet to be determined," said Roethlisberger, whose Steelers play at the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4. "I know I want to be on the field, Cam wants to be on the field, and the guys in that locker room want to be on the field."

Roethlisberger's comments came shortly after he wrote on his website Monday that he wished the Steelers had handled their show of unity during the national anthem differently Sunday.

Roethlisberger wrote that he "was unable to sleep last night" as the Steelers' method of protest weighed on him.

The Steelers decided to stay in the Soldier Field tunnel before Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears in light of divisive comments made by President Donald Trump. Left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, a former Army ranger, was the lone Steeler standing just outside the tunnel, hand over heart, a move that one team source said surprised many players based on the unified approach outlined at Saturday's players-only meeting..

Roethlisberger explained the team captains asked Villanueva to meet them at the top of the tunnel, and amid "chaos" from Bears fans in the area and the anthem music starting, the players stopped short and Villanueva was left alone. Roethlisberger estimates players were about 20 feet behind Villanueva. "I regret not going down to Al, but Al didn't know that we weren't there," Villanueva said. "Al thought we were standing with him. There was no division there...It was just the way it appeared through pictures."

Heyward said the captains have spoken with Villanueva, who was with the team during Monday's meetings. Villanueva told Heyward he was "shocked" by the pictures, Heyward said.

Villanueva was not made available to the media as of late Monday afternoon, and he wasn't visible in the locker room after Sunday's game.

"He never wants to be the center of attention," said Heyward about Villanueva not wanting to stand alone on the field.

Both players were clear they fully supported the military and Sunday was not a boycott, but a stand of unity. Roethlisberger said in a statement released Monday that he had trouble sleeping last night after the way things went down.

"I just felt like I wish that we would have been on the field," Roethlisberger said. "That's just my personal feeling on it. I'm entitled to that opinion. That's what's great about this country and what the troops are for. I wish we could have stood out there. What was important was being united as well, and that's what we showed. We showed unity. Because that's what we need in this country right now. There's so much division. We need to stay together."

What makes them clueless idiots is the fact that they are disrespecting what most of the people in this country have paid respect to for so many fucking years. They picked the wrong way, by far, to make a point. Not only that, but millionaire blacks? Are you fucking serious? Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So you would listen to broke blacks?

I don't understand your remark.

Do broke blacks have more credibility? Are they allowed to cry and you will listen? I don't get what you are trying to say. Yes I am fucking serious.

It is the best way to grab your attention. It's working isn't it? If they went out and did this on the street they might be attacked physically first of all. And then media will say they aren't focused on football. It's a loss loss.

The players yesterday didn't all knee because of black injustice. They did that to support their teammates and to say I'm not a son of a bitch and I'm not going to respect someone who calls me a son of a bitch who doesn't even know me or has never talked to me. THINK

Yes, it got my attention, and you know exactly what I mean. It's getting lots of attention, and it's a back fire.

It appears you're the racist, where did I single out blacks? I stated all were idiots because most, if not all of them, have no clue why they're even doing it. I get it, you want badly to be black, and you feel it's somehow your responsibility to back them.

Played a sport? Sure I did. I've also given 34 years of my life in the military and public service. You've sat on the couch all your life and bitched. The truth is they're being disrespectful, and have no 1st amendment right to do what they're doing. If the NFL had any balls they would have ended this when it started.

I get it, you pretend to be some kind of online sjw, always acting like the man has you down. I will give you this, when I need a good laugh, I read your posts.

Lol hey retard. Trump made the statement towards those who were not standing for the flag. Not you. Which was directed towards what? 8 white people or so? No dumbass. It was directed at black people clearly. Who else was not standing?

Have you played a team sport? With a team. Not just playing a sport. You clearly haven't if you don't understand yesterday.

I typically stay out of these types of conversations but after reading some really off the wall comments and seeing that a lot of people just don't get it. I felt I should post.

First off I think the players went about this all wrong. It doesn't matter to me if the players are Black, White, Latino or other. I am ok with their protest it's just the wrong way of handling it.

People are up in arms, Black, White, Latino or other, not just Whites as some want you to believe. The media has sensationalized this and blown it up into proportions it never should've reached.

Think about some of the protests that have taken place, women's march, BLM, and others. They received attention but nothing to this magnitude. FOX, CBS and NBC all made major news of it during the games on Sunday. Outside of week 1 and the Super Bowl when do they ever show the national anthem? Never?

They used this as a platform to push their ill will agenda as they have with their news broadcasts.

Rather than try to get some happy medium or at least a spot to not push further division, they chose this route instead. I am sure the NFL may have asked for this further coverage as well. After all sinking ratings aren't helping their brand and now that they have something they can try to help them well you understand where this went.

You can't put the brunt of the blame on Trump for the divisiveness in the USA , it started well before him.

People love to say the Whites hate the Blacks, the Blacks hate the Whites. When you go to a grocery store, the post office or a movie theater, have you seen Whites or Blacks yelling at each other or saying they hate one another? The answer is normal everyday activity is NO.

You see this divisiveness when someone thinks they've been wronged or a decision they wanted didn't go their way. Then the criminal element gets out and protests and riots. They destroy property and loot. Then you get the media involved and off we go once again.

Why do you think CNN uses Don Lemon and Van Jones when it is a racial riot in place. I am not singling out these guys but it is what it is. CNN has been doing this now for years.

I link this to the following, we all hear about illegals from Mexico but never from Canada. The same can be said when blacks get shot and killed by police but never hear about when whites are shot and killed by police.

You can blame the democrats for keeping segments of society down. Rather than raise a hand up, they give a hand out. Our country is going into the abyss and until people stop taking handouts it will continue this way.

Listen there are good blacks, their are bad blacks, there are good whites and bad whites. Don't let the bad ruin it for the good.

Think about what I said about black/whites in the same stores, movie theaters wherever, there isn't protests, fights, arguments amongst the good folks, throw in some bad black/white into the mix and that's where the problems start and end.

The players have a platform they can speak out from, socially and during interviews, don't use the anthem that many have fought for and died for to try to further your cause.

Perhaps if those players stood up in opposition to the kneeling it would be a different story.

Shake the hand of a fellow man and learn their story before judging by their looks.

This is an excellent & very important point that I have also stated.

Many African-Americans seem focused on believing that Caucasians are the only ones who have a problem with the way the protests are being held.

They are dead wrong.

Caucasians, Latinos, Asians, etc. and even other blacks are tired of this bulls!t...
