Chad Pennington has a FAR stonger arm than Leinart

Thats hard to believe.

One thing is for sure, Leinart is no Carson Palmer. He should have come out last season. He is exposed now. He would have been the very first pick by S.F last season if he would have entered. Now he will be lucky to be a top 10 pick.

Leinart is a great college player, but he's the next Chad Pennington. QB with a very weak arm that gets by on smarts.

I would not take Leinart in the first round, and I expect him to drop similiar to Aaron Rodgers.

This is a very smart comment. Leinart is very comparible to Pennington. I wouldn't dream of taking him in the first round. He simply has the keys to a rolls royce right now and he dropped the ball not taking the money and running when he had the chance. I respected his decision but it was not a wise one.

Guys:

great debate but lets get real .... who knows what in the hell will happen at the next level

Remember Tony Mandarich? Packers lose a coin flip and the Cowboys draft Aikman and the Pack takes supposedly the greatest lineman prospect of all time

What about Brian Sipe? About as mobil as a statue in the park and he had a nice career in the NFL ...

It all depends upon the system and where the player is drafted ... hell, look at SD ... think they wish they could do it over again with all the money wasted on Rivers? How bout the Cowboys and all the money was on Hutchinson and Henson??

Leinart will play in the NFL for many years ... the kid leads the team on a last minute drive to win yesterday and if I recall he played very well in the National Championship game

Maybe he doesnt have the "tools" but I heard that for many years about Austin native Drew Brees and he went to the Pro Bowl last year

I see a big time bust come draft day with Matt Leinart. He should have come out last season before being exposed. I see him being a huge bust at the next level if you ask me. If he falls anywhere below the first pick in the draft this year he made a mistake.

Forgive the late response but i havent been able to post or even watch football the whole weekend!!! Every time i read a thread about yesterdays games i feel like throwing up!!! I cant believe i missed such a wonderful weekend of football..

But regarding Leinert, some of us have been saying for a long time that he is a fraud!!! I personally have said it and will say it again..Jay cutler of Vanderbilt will be picked before leinert!!!!

Ps...I didnt see the game so i am only expounding on what i have said before.

Sharp post Chop. He doesn't look ready for the speed of the NFL and is actually hurting himself with his performance tonight. Should've left last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him slip on some draft boards.

I agree, but I would take Smith and Quinn over him at this point....knowing that they probably aren't coming out this year, of course.

Add Vince Young and Jay Cutler to that list.

Leinart would have been better off coming out last year. His last game against UCLA wasnt very impressive either. His arm is only average and he moves slower than my old buddy Drew Bledsoe.I hope the Bills dont draft him! Thats all we need is another loser rookie qb.

Leinart seems like he's fragile like china. Everytimr he gets hit, it seems that he wincing or getting up slowly. I would hate to see him on NFL Sunday's having to take hit after hit. Even Peyton got touched a few times this year.
