Assuming the cost of goods is 50% of the Selling price the Store Owner is out

$65 - $30 not given back in the sale proceeds and $35 in Product cost - The Other $35 is his net

The 2nd transaction is irrelevant and a 'wash' the numbers would be the same as if it was a new customer coming in an buying. Owner is out the $100

another way to look at it, what did the robber gain?

$ 70 in groceries & $ 30 in cash, or $ 100

the owner cannot be out more than the robber gain, nor can he be out less (except if you consider markup ::)
