matchplay golf

love the matchplay golf and it is an easy tournament to go <whacko> in and make to many plays. but the key to remember is that over 18 holes anything can happen . over 72 holes the best player will usually get the job done but in 18 a hot putter or a couple of good breaks can turn the tide quickly. witness the final last year where mccarron was clearly the best but watching sutherland miss landing strip sized fairway after fairway and holing ever putt he stood over finally <broke> him down.
i have played enough matches myself for some pretty good units that even the best <break> down on a continous diet of pars from the jungle by their oppenent.
this corse is very familiar to the players and has wide open fairways and historically green in reg stats do well here.
that said i dont play large favorites for the reasons above
lehman over hoch -22 1/2 unit
scott over langer -05 1/2 unit

damn i was thinking about that <doofus> when i typed that
but his start of the year has not been up to his standards and his strengh is not on courses where it takes alot of birdies
he is a tough man to beat on a tough course

 

just reread my post and by no stretch of the imagination was i implying i was <one of the best> in my break down>> analogy.. i was just trying to get the point across that a hot putter can beat alot of people in 18 holes

Sea, fairdealsports.com has a field bet of 8-1 that basically is giving you 32 of the worst players in the field. That seems like a pretty good bet based on history, what am I missing?

 

really think top seeds have been playing so well that they will advance this year
tiger els goosen have all been in top form

Sea, I ended up taking the field for a small wager at 8-1 the only problem is I didn't print out who the field is, anybody know where I can find this, my book no long has it listed.
