I had Lopez +280 and Black +340 today and both win the first set but the opponents (Coria & Ferreira) both retire because of nagging injuries. These injuries were why both matches were hit hard with overnight steam so the books new rule on completion is combating this type of steam on injuries. Frustrating for me but I must say very shrewd by the books using this rule now.

i was on Coria and i lost. The book i was with graded it a loss.
Not all books have them retirement rule i assume.
i'm not arguing with the loss, just wanted to clarify, it was a very small wager.

these new tennis rules cost me 2 winners today because both of my plays were winners but since the other platers retired in there matches it was considered no action

are there any books out there left that take tennis and consider retired/disqualified player as winners ?

bet365 grades the wager if one set is completed.
In other words, if a player retires during the first set, there is no action, if a player retires after the first set is completed, he is graded a loss.

Coria and Ferreria did not have nagging injurys, just jet lag. I dont think you will see books change just because a few others do. Usually Mexicans arent quitters but Coria and Gonzalez are exceptions, they were going to lose anyway.

New Tennis rules-

I think that the books who are changing their rules are just to lazy to follow tennis and know who is "damaged" goods. What next..a Stevie Francis or Jimmy Edmonds rule or maybe a rule saying Iverson has to play 40 minutes for Sixer bets to be official?
And are golf matchups next? Many of the big names drop out after a bad round to keep from hurting the stats.
Matchups have ALWAYS been based on first serve and if books are choosing to change them it is because the players are beating the books.

Congratulations to DSI, 5 Dimes, Carib, and you can add ABC to the list of books that are not afraid of taking a tennis bet.

Good Luck to All

Another one bites the dust.

From Gamebookers:

"We are writing to inform you that in response to increased customer demand, we have amended our settlement rules. Whenever a participant in a tennis match withdraws after the start of the event, all respective bets will be deemed void. It remains valid that, with the exception of bets that forecast the winner of a tournament, if the participant withdraws before the start of the event, bets will be voided too.

Look forward to our extensive coverage of the Tennis Masters Series and the U.S. Open this month - full bet offer, live-streaming news, and livescores.

Best Regards,
service @ gamebookers "
