El Gordo, don't get carried away. I think the Marlins stoled the first game because the Yanks were emotinally and a little physicall spent from the Red Sox series. I still think the Yanks have too much talent to lose in a seven-game series!

If outplaying the other team constitutes "stealing" then the Marlins stole this game - Yanks better start playing because this ain't a team that is going to give the game away (barring a Looper appearance) - it's one game but is clear that the Yanks are no better than the Marlins and Florida knows this and is not nervous - plus, look at the lineups and who does NY have that is better than anyone on the Marlins other than Riviera.

I think NY was fortuntate to play Boston who always chokes to them and the Twins don't count as a win.

Good points, I think everything is lined up for the Marlins to win. Starting on the road is always a big plus for a lesser experienced team, they don't have the pressure of having to win two games or facing the possibility of not coming back home. I think the rotation sets up well too, Game 3 is sure to be the pivotal game in the series and the Marlins have their best pitcher on full rest ready for that one. The real issue is how the Marlins do when they feel the pressure to win, and I don't think that will hit until they are a couple games ahead or are in a spot to clinch. If they can handle that pressure then there is no reason to think they can't win this.

Hope the Marlins win if for no other reason we do not have to see Torre cry again.........or Jeter pump his fist. Bad act on Broadway.

Here we go, a team wins game 1 and everybody gets excited and emotional about it.

Maybe you're right, but the last I checked, the oddsmakers have the Yankees favored in all but one of the remaining games. The only one the're not favored in is the Beckett game at +103.

So, all you frustrated Sox fans may be setting yourself up for another disappointment.

Down 1-0 to Red Sox-(WON)
Down 1-0 to Twins - (WON)
Down 1-0 to Marlins, will win again.
Was who do the Yankeees have other
than Rivera that is better than anyone
on the Marlins a serious question?
I know the games are not played on
paper but as far as talent, do you think
the Yankees were 2-1 favorites because
the Yankees only have Rivera? How long
before Urbina blows a game if he gets
another chance?
