My gut still tells me he signs with the Angels after we learned they have a 8-year offer on the table. I just cannot see him in a Boston uniform. However, if for some reason he does not sign with the Halos, I see the Angels going after both Peavy and Manny Ramirez. Where does Mark end up?
Word is his Wife wants him to join an east coast team, and I'm guessing she wears the pants in that relationship. Angels better off going after pitching, like Peavy, would be a huge pick up, and would solidify them with the best rotation in baseball. Manny is unlikely but would steal some energy away from the Dodgers and might be smart strategically.

at there time of winning it were all in the bottom half of team salaries.the rays went to the series last year,the rockies the year before that.the yankees and mets didnt even make the playoffs last year.there have been more repeat champions in the nba and nfl (salary cap leagues)this decade than in mlb.

Just like they were when they added Giambi in 2001? A-Rod in 2004? If you look at the offensive numbers we don't have a drastic increase in production for them next year... they will be good, but I'm not sure their swing for the fences every year method will work out this time around, it hasn't since 2000 and every off season people say how they are again the favorite because of the money they throw around.
