What the fuck was he thinking??? His entire offense was returning for god sake! He had 1 whole year as a starter which don't mean shit. So what if his OC left?

Pete Carroll's right. Sanchez ain't ready.

The money is a real factor. We are talking seignificant numbers that most of us never get a shot at much less at that young age. Who cares if you make it. Give it your best shot and keep making out those deposit slips. I have a friend who put in 7 years mostly on special teams and was very frugal while he played. He is set for life and living very well.
If you get the big bonus you do not even have to worry about getting vested for retirement. I am a whore, I would follow the money. I think ever since N.E. uncorked a virtual cherry with no college playing experience guys like Sanchez have got to say " I can do that".

its all about the money... plus if he waits til next year look at all the QBs hes gonna have to be competing with for draft position. If he comes out now hes really only looking at two other Qbs: Stafford and Nate the great

Yes I know the money is a factor. But barring injury which is a highly small percentage, he woulda been able to go next year easily in the 1st round.

and lets be real here, its not like he wasn't getting paid already. Certainly not the multiple millions of dollars, but he wasn't struggling financially at USC either.

Ryan Leaf is still laughing all the way to the bank and he has been out awhile. Considering the NFL is talking about a rookie salary cap I think all prospects should go if they are 1st rounders.

Tebow's not a factor at all, but Colt Mcoy and Bradford sure are. Smart move by Sanchez, even if I think he'd benefit from another year, and me wanting him to stay for selfish reasons.

With the other two staying in school, and the big bonuses going bye bye in another year, this was the smart move for him and his family.

I don't blame Sanchez one bit for leaving. As far as little chance for injury that is ridiculous. The guy has played injured quite a bit already.

I loved this pic. I was surprised to see that Petey was rather unsupportive of the move publicly.

Pete Carroll was acting like an asshole, IMO. He made it about him on Sanchez's day. He couldve just said he hoped Sanchez would stay but he supports him and wishes him the best of luck.

Only an idiot would accept that deal. Yeah right. (as if) If I was in his shoes and saw a possible offer like that, not only would I leave the team, I'd drop out of school completely and never look back.

One thing I do have to say in his defense that makes sense aside from the money involved is that he looked NFL ready in the Rose Bowl. What's that break down to? Something like 1.5 million per pass completion or 10 million per TD pass? I'd say Sanchez had himself a pretty good day.

MaybeMitch Mustain or Aaron Corp will appreciate Sanchez's move next year. I'm not so sure PC will like the way it pans out, but we'll see.

Wanting USC to make it to the championship vs. Florida, I was angry that Sanchez left. They don't have a chance now.
I don't blame him, though, he will make a lot more money this year than next with Stafford being his only competition. Stafford is a better pro prospect though after watching both, what a arm he has!
Texas is my pick now to make it to Pasadena with OU right behind them if UT stumbles.

I don't know about that. USC is loaded with NFL bodies. Who will beat them, Sanchez or no Sanchez? The rest of their offense will be returning almost to the last man. CJ Gable and Stafon Johnson along with Joe McKnight equal 3 RB's that could start anywhere.

It will now be Mitch Mustain's chance to step up, but Aaron Corp will be a soph next year and he might steal the job. There was some word in the last fall camp that Corp was even giving Sanchez a run for the starting job... but lacking experience he was kept in the background. He could beat out Mustain for the starting role. That would be interesting. Corp was the #1 QB rivals.com recruit in '08 and he'll have a chance to show his stuff, possibly next season. He is a more accurate passer than Sanchez was at the time, but it takes a little more than that to win the job... things like leadership and knowing the system which is where Sanchez excelled. But as it is with everything else, we'll see.

Its Aaron Corps job to lose, he is Carrolls guy, Carroll did NOT recruit Mustain. Thats the reason Cassell never played a down. Not to mention Mustain isnt as good as Corp.

The Qb posisition at USC will never be a question mark. Southern California is always loaded with blue chippers at that posistion.

Corp is gonna win the job. Corp is a better QB than Sanchez IMO. He gives SC something they haven't had since Pete has been there and thats a running threat at QB. Just watch his Orange Lutheran games from 2006. Kid was a beast.

Anyone who has gone to the SC practices would have seen Corp giving the starting SC defense fits, and if he can give SC's 08 defense fits. I doubt he won't give any other defense a headache.
