Line was Marist +16. On site I use, 75% were betting Marist. I'm guessing it was the same elsewhere. An earlier post here bet Marist and cited a linemaker's error. The +16 attracted many bets I'm sure. Check their records and stats- this should have been a fairly close game. +16 reeled everyone in to bet Marist.

58-57 Marist with 11 minutes left. Siena goes on a
16-0 run, 20-2 in last 11 minutes. Siena goes on to win 77-60 covering the spread by exactly 1 point.

Something smells very rotten here.

I played +9.5 1H and U77 for the 2H(THANKFULLY), because I almost took them +9.5 for 2H as well. I sure couldn't believe how Siena just dominated and pulled away very late. It seemed like slowly but surely, Siena would go up 5, then 8, then 10, then all the sudden they win by 17 when Marist competed and were up for large portions of the game.

No it shouldnt have been fairly close. Check what stats? Siena is the best team in this conference. They bring back basically everyone from a team who won a game in the NCAA Tourney last year.

The fix comment is comical. A 16 pt spread where the favorite covers by 1 point? Fix are you kidding me?

Siena 4-3 overall, 1-0 MAAC.
Marist 3-4 overall, 1-0 MAAC.

True, core back and Vand. was a good team.

But- this year Marist lost to Rutgers by 2, and beat Robert Morris, New Hampshire and Iona.

Iona lost to Fairfield at Fairfield by 2, w/ Fairfield the best team in the conference.

This should not have been a 17 pt. loss, esp. w/ the score so close w/ 11 minutes left.

Well next time I'm on the right side of a fix, I hope they don't keep the game so close.

BTW: Siena is conference favorites, and played in a very tough tournament where they lost a couple of games. Marist is a weak squad this year.

Correct about the fix statement being comical.
Fairfield is the beast of the MAAC IMO.

Being the local team, I follow this team pretty close. Siena better step it up if they are going to win the MAAC as everyone expects them to. Was at the game last night and they were tested by a team picked to be a cellar dweller by season's end. Seemed Marist just ran out gas at the end as they couldn't drop it in the ocean. Kenny Hasbrouck, preseason Player of the Year choice, has been in a funk since day one and nagging injuries to a couple players that were counted on to give quality minutes have contributed to the lackluster play. As a season ticket holder, I sure hope things turn around fast, as road games with Pittsburgh and Kansas loom large in the near future before MAAC play starts. If this team hits on all cylinders, they are fun to watch. Still waiting to see that happen.

Yeah, I had Marist +16 too. Two bunny layups by Marist just before the final buzzer rolled off the rim and that was that.

Everyone but Tay Fisher who led the conference in Offensive Rating. Also it was basically him and Hasbrouck who were responsible for them upsetting Vandy in the first round as he went 6-6 from downtown. I was shocked at how many people thought Siena wouldn't feel that loss despite him being a somewhat low usage player...

But anyway, game wasn't fixed, if you've watched Siena this year they have been a slow starting team and are extremely streaky. Marist is a bit of a mess and while 11 minutes with 2 points is absurd, they are very prone to droughts. Personally I don't think the numbers indicated a close game, when it opened at 14.5 I thought it was playable, but lacking the value I like to make a play (I lined it 13 on a neutral court).

Very very tough break though I can see why you'd be upset.
